This describes how I feel about gaming

That’s why I get MAH fix at the one-two-nine.

Excellent video!

I think this guy should of emphasized more that he was a wow addict and that the bulk of the issue is due to MMOs. I will play Half-Life and mass effect 2 once and stop. I am anti MMO cuz the job of the devs are solely to keep people addicted. In Asia, they have already taken steps to cap people’s playtime in MMOs, how bout doing it everywhere.

I guess what I’m saying is, the problem isn’t games its online games and lack of disciple on the devs and clients part. Stick to games that have an end and you won’t go overboard.

  1. Mod games
  2. Work years on portfolio
  3. Apply at game studio
  4. ???
  5. PROFIT

more like

  1. ???
  2. Discover that you’ve been wasting your time.
  3. Get a real job.

Life for Western citizens summed up.

I…Almost shed a tear.
Why the fuck should i be playing games or using the internet, I only used 14 years of my life and after seeing this Vid, I don’t wanna waste it all on The internet and games.

[color=’#212121’]well, maybe i do, but only on occasion.
I can’t believe what society turned out with the internets. we just wanna use it more and more.
Ahh well :expressionless:

Did he factor in the fact that not all “gamers” play WoW?

The point of that video seems to be going way over all your heads… <.<

He wants you to determine if your gaming/general electronic entertainment has benefited or destroyed your social life, not whether different games do so.

People are constantly making choices. They choose the thing that they’d prefer. If someone prefers playing video games their entire life, then that’s what’s best for them. They’re enjoying life the most, not missing out.

With that said, I don’t spend much of my time at all playing video games =P

Video games? No, I hardly have time for them nowadays.

Internet? Absolutely. Surfing the web, visiting forums, YouTube, Facebook, Wikipedia…now THAT’S an addiction.

What if you didn’t have a social life before playing video games?

I don’t really think my lack of social skills is the result of being a gamer. I just have a fear of social interaction with people I don’t already know, and as such tend to stay inside my “comfort zone”, as my school counsellor calls it. Gaming is just something to do, just like reading, which is not to say I should be doing as much of it as I do.

For me, good point. I’ve always preferred outside to inside. And still, inside sure has it’s moments though!

This pretty much. Although I much prefer to go outside, meet new people, play football (the real one where you actually play with your foot) when it’s summer, that kind of stuff than to pass time on Facebook.

This is why I hate video games. I play them sure but not as the only thing I do. I like social interaction with real life people too much.

The one thing that pisses me off is that he blames video games for his addiction.

It’s basically the same thing I say to people who blame McDonalds for being fat, “They didn’t make you fat, you made yourself fat by eating it so much of it, tubby”.

Weed made me a marijuana addict.

Not my fault.

Same drug, same slang. Cannabis.

This, I like doing things outside (in the summer, Canadian winters… not much to do.) and I have some really good friends but socializing was and probably never will be my thing. Terrible stage fright, and given the choice between doing anything at home and going to a party, I will pick home any day.
