The difference is, that is exactly why the people that like Minecraft like the game. We know it is what you don’t like about it, and we don’t care :stuck_out_tongue:

someone explain to me why people find that enjoyable

at least with borderlands there are other elements to the game. minecraft is literally one big fetchquest and there’s nothing else to it.

what’s the point?

It’s based off of a game called infiniminer. Infiniminer was a multiplayer game, with the objective being that you had to use various blocks in order to dig down, extract ore, and return it to your team’s base area on the surface.

The problem was, it turned out to be way more fun build a base than to actually compete and mine. Minecraft made this the goal of the game, which turned out to be a very good idea.

It just depends on the friends you have. Borderlands was a crappy game but with friends it was fun. Same with Bordelands 2. We didn’t finish it though, cause we fucked around too much.

Strange, I was coming here to say that at least minecraft lets you do other stuff than just collect this to collect that. I mean, you can build crap in minecraft, you literally cannot do anything in borderlands except run, walk shoot and jump.

@Keresh: Yeah, friends do play a huge part in it. It was fun for about eight or so hours, it just feels really tedious after that though. I mean, I’ve got hundreds of hours put into Left 4 Dead, so it doesn’t take much to liven “run 'n gun” up enough to be entertaining. I just found that “run to get more gun” is not the best way to go about it.

I put 10€ into my steam wallet for the sale, the only game I bought so far is Mirror’s edge, because I want to know how it plays on PC.
However, I’ve now earned the money that I bought it for(2.49€) by selling ‘Dota 2 holiday event stuff’ in The steam community market.
I hope they’ll let you sell something else than tools and boxes in that market, I’ll make an fortune since I don’t care about those cosmetic Items for Dota 2.
I don’t know how I would use all that money on steam, though.

The concept behind minecraft is the same concept behind legos. You build schtuff. End of story. The trick is getting the kids off the tv so you can catch up on dexter.

Oh hey Catz, how’s it going?

Cant complain. Life is good. =D And how you be dear?

Unbelievably amazing. :awesome:

I’m actually looking forward to life, tbh.

I don’t believe it.

:hmph:

The difference is, LEGO is fucking expensive these days.

And LEGO isn’t written in java

That makes a lot of sense, thanks for the link.

Makes me think twice about hoarding all my old LEGO. I must have a thousand dollars or so of the stuff upstairs by now. :fffuuu:

I’m sure you can write Java in LEGO, though.

So Happy Christmas to you all then, you loveable bastards.

Or whatever the hell it is I’m celebrating at this point, I’m not sure myself.

God Jul.

I could also write Java Lego in Lego Java (but that would require me to download a lego texture pack for Minecraft and I’m not in the mood).

Tomato.
