Argh, balls. Every time I see it seems to differ. Just checked the spelling in the official HL manual. :meh:
Whatever, can’t even pretend to care. It was still a crappy suggestion and he still misspelled Barney and Gordon

wait, Kleiner is in the official HL manual? Scientists didn’t have names in HL…
He meant half life 2 you silly boob.
About the whole Magnusson thing? I don’t understand, why not? Dr. Kleiner was incorporated into the game, why not Magnusson. Plus he knows about that whole thing with the microwave which was an incident so unimportant and took place basically right before the Resonance Cascade that he had to be in the immediate area to know that it even happened! He could easily be one of the two scientists in that very brake room. Most likely the one that can’t get the vending machine to work. It’s perfect, he can complain about the machine not working, and even reprimand Gordon if you decide to blow up the food in that microwave (I think it was a casserole?).
No. And stop asking!
Magnusson is known to be kind of a dick. It is perfectly in-character for him to station a scientist to guard the casserole while it was cooking while he went to the bathroom (or even have a scientist COOK Magnusson’s food for him and bring it to him in his office). This scientist is the one who says, “My god, what ARE you doing?!” because now the scientist is in trouble with Magnusson.
I’m just imagining the conversation:
Magnusson: Good god, what is the meaning of this?
Scientist: Uh, sorry. Gordon Free–
Magnusson: Is it really so much to ask to guard my food for five minutes? Is that task so Herculean that you were unable to even do that right?
It would confirm Magnusson’s “kind of a dick” status…
Because nobody knows where Magnusson ist at the time. Eli tells you where he was and Marc Laidlaw said, that Kleiner was the injured Scientist next to him, but it was never verified where Magnusson was.
I was told in an email that he ‘probably stepped out’ and appointed the guy at the desk to watch his food for him.
…an email from whom?
Did they also offer to enlarge your wang and ask if you’d send your bank details because they have a load of nigerian cash they need your help in getting out of the country?
…because if they did I suspect it may not be entirely legit.
In other words…
[CITATION NEEDED]
Nope. I meant HL1. The original manual featured the employment letter sent to Freeman and Kleiner’s name appears in the letter.
O_o …
what? isn’t it?
Last I checked, even the collector’s editions of HL2 had just a reference card.
He said HL1
Yeah, but someone mentioned the HL2 manual, of which there is none.
Yeah, closest thing to a “HL2 manual” is the official PRIMA guide, and those things are worthless.
In the Blueshift manual Kleiner is definitely mentioned, the letter is CC’d to him or something.
I don’t have a Half-Life1 manual so I can’t confirm the name there.
I was all ready to join the argument but then I found this.

in the commentary for hl2ep2. it say Magnussons voice is based of one of the scientist that let you into the test chamber the last door. (forgot witch one long time sense I have played ep2)
