Unless you cheat, there are 4 characters you meet after the disaster before you acquire a weapon. Therefore, these characters cannot be killed in any way shape or form and are the only 4 definite survivors of the incident in the Anomalous Materials Labs.
3 scientists (2 of which are already confirmed as Isaac and Eli) and 1 security guard: Hmmm.
In HL2, Barney is never actually referred to as “Calhoun” the main character from Blue-Shift who is the security guard seen during the tram ride. (BS was never actually considered canon anyway, along with OpFor)
Could it be that these 4 characters are actually the 4 from HL2 and episodes?
It’s unlikely. Barney is in a completely different part of the facility to Gordon and in the voice credits he’s listed as Barney Calhoun.
I thought you only saw Eli and Kleiner? I can’t remember any other scientists being there before you get the Glock.
It’s not because you don’t see them dying right after the RC that they will survive after you leave.
Immediately outside the test chamber is a scientist giving cpr to a guard, who eventually recovers and gets to his feet.
Oh yeah, forgot about both of them. I thought UrBY meant the guard you see shooting zombies at the top of the lift shaft but I realised that you have the crowbar by then.
Their is a high possibility, that guard will be killed by the zombie, without your help anyway.
Not really, everyone knows that in the Black Mesa Research Facility, when the alarm got engaged, a security procedure begins, making crowbars fall from the ceiling. That’s how Gordon got his one, wasn’t it?
Yeah, last time there was a drill there were 37 concussions and three deaths.

Not true, you can backtrack all the way back to the test chamber once you get the crowbar, killing whoever you want on the way.
I don’t think you can, as far as I remember the door back to where Eli and Kleiner are closes behind you. And if it doesn’t happen in Half-Life I’m sure it will happen in Black Mesa to maintain continuity.
how will it change continuity of the door closes or not ? imo it’s your own choice whether to backtrack to Eli and Kleiner or to continue forward
Because if you kill them it’ll mess up continuity with Half Life 2.
they could always play one of those “contract terminated” screens when you fail at a vital part of the game like letting Alyx be killed or falling off the bridge with the buggy in "highway 17’’
