The Half Life ending

I’m not really sure how it should be handled, to be perfectly honest. I don’t think they should deviate too far away from the original, but maybe a different setting (to meet modern game standards)…

If I had to suggest something, I’d say I liked the idea of having the original lines of alien grunts, but with the Gargantua running between them towards you, pushing them aside to get to you, but the screen fades out before he gets there. No sounds after fade.

There are no words in the English language that can describe how impossibly sad that statement is.

I’ll be damned. Just played it and now it works. I guess they fixed it without saying anything.

I think he likes the potential for jigglebones for certain body parts.

…which makes it even more sad. :frowning:

But, really, I would like to see a reaction from the assembled when the G-Man transports you into the battle you have no chance of winning for just a split second before we cut to black. I’d like to see something more than just what was there, too. Perhaps Agrunts and Gargs?

Helicopter, amirite? :retard:

I think the Half-Life ending is just fine as it is. Valve made it great. It doesn’t need to be messed with at all.

You could do it without noclipping by using a level warp, but then you’d still have to use impulse 101.

G-man has taken all of ur weapons, how do u think he’s going 2 win the fight!?

You mean sv_cheats 1

No. He meant impulse 101, give all weapons. duh.

And a PCV, which lets you actually continue playing.

You can switch weapons without a PCV/Suit. You just have no HUD to tell you what weapon is highlighted/ammo.

If Gordon declines the G-man’s offer, he’s teleported to a room where all the video game characters he beat in the gamespot contest beat the crap out of him forever.

May, or may not, include Mario.

No, you need sv_cheats 1 enabled before that you dolt. Think before you type. :fffuuu:

Use changelevel instead of map command imo then you’re set

I would actually really like this IF they made an achievement “Refuse Gman’s offer and win”, for the absolutely hardcore who may actually manage to fight off 100 or so grunts.

And no one else will.

You don’t even have any weapons, how are you going to “fight” them? I think it should be the same, but with some Grunt reactions like them roaring or something.

I was thinking of something like this, only one of the grunts blows a heavy punch into Freeman’s face and the screen turns black. “The End” :stuck_out_tongue:

I’d actually be happy with anything as long as it wasn’t the boring ending that HL1 had, where all the grunts were standing around like cardboard cutouts before fading to black.

Even if they simply notice me and begin acting agitated, that’d be enough for me.
