The golden age of PC gaming - classic games

What about Heart of Darkness? :stuck_out_tongue:

Ah, nostalgia…

About time! Props for the original Monkey Island(s)! I have a framed poster of the original SoMI box art in my bathroom

My first memories of computer games would have to be playing the original Call of Duty, Lords of the Realm II, and the original Bionic Commando. They aren’t that old but hey, I didn’t start playing computer games for a while.

By the way, hello! I have been watching BM for about 2 years now, and I have had this account set up for a few months but never posted. I usually just checked the home page for twitter updates, read a few threads.

EDIT: Shit. Didn’t realize my brother got on here earlier and posted. I changed my password now!

Same here. I’ve been watching BM since 2007. Too bad that then they updated more frequent :frowning: I hate reading ‘old school like the old school’ every time I check my twitter feed

Anyway, what about Hercules or Pandemonium? :jizz:

I used to have the original big boxes of Shadow Warrior, Abe’s Oddysee and Quake but I fucking threw them away! :’( those boxes were awesome, way better than the pissy little DVD cases you get nowdays…

Oh come now, the whole thread an no mention of Deus Ex?

What a shame.

Also Descent.

You beat me to it Fnoigy…

And also, cough Fallout & Diablo cough

Actually haven’t. Been meaning to for a long time but somehow never got around to it. :frowning:

Anyway, here’s some more favorites:

Age of Empires 2. Best one of them all IMO.

Red Baron. This game is almost as old as I am and looks like it was drawn in MS Paint. Still it was pretty fun.

Chex Quest. A weird but fun Doom mod that came in boxes of Chex.

Worms World Party. I guess the Worms franchise is still around, but this one is still great.

Hunter Hunted. An awesome platformer game where you played as a human or a beast-like alien who each had unique weapons and skills.

I thought this was about real classic games, not the halfway stuff like Deus Ex, Half Life and that Harry Potter game mentioned.

Well, these games are classics, nevertheless they’re not that old. IMO even Half-Life 2 is starting to become one of them, its just too young.

Except Deus Ex is literally the best game ever, so I’d say that qualifies it as “classic”.

all in the same awesome sega cartridge

Yes. That will be all.

Hardly the best game ever. The combat mechanics are shocking, animations are poorly done and logic is often ignored in crucial environments. However, it remains the only game that doesn’t feel repetitive when I play through it again.

I didn’t like it

Supaplex and Superfrog.

Which makes your opinion on everything henceforth invalid.

Original half-life was a great game?

Original half-life is a great game.
