So here is my break down of the TESO PDF with translations.
Translation; [COLOR=‘DarkRed’]We want to turn Skyrim into World of Warcraft.
Translation; [COLOR=‘DarkRed’]We need to make the controls, visuals and UI the same as WoW.
Translation; [COLOR=‘DarkRed’]We decided that the previous TES games had too much innovation. We don’t want that and basically would just like to ape WoW
Translation; [COLOR=‘DarkRed’]That was cool, right? Well, don’t expect to be doing the same in this game.
Translation; [COLOR=‘DarkRed’] If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
Translation; [COLOR=‘DarkRed’] This is our one attempt to be different from WoW…we will restrict players.
Now, I’m not suggesting that they should try and revolutionize the MMO genre, but doing something a little different would be welcome. I played WoW since vanilla but stopped playing properly after Wrath. I picked it back up when Cata was released, but it only held my interest for a few months. I’ll probably check out Pandaria, but I doubt it will be interesting enough to keep me playing long. WoW is a great game, but that doesn’t mean that EVERY SINGLE MMO has to be the same. It’s boring. I really wish something original would come out, but it looks like we’ll have to wait for Blizzard to release Titan for that to happen. I have the feeling that Titan is probably a Starcraft MMO. It would actually be great to see a shooter MMO which doesn’t work on a turn based system. If anyone can pull it off, Blizz will. Which is just sad. Why do we all have to rely on Blizzard to do these things? Why don’t we have other companies trying to make a MMO shooter with real time firing? I know they have problems with such a huge world and latency when it comes to shooters, but maybe think around it by perhaps having smaller world populations.
A MMO of STALKER would work in such a way because the ‘zone’ isn’t supposed to be massively populated by people.
