The Elder Scrolls Online

So here is my break down of the TESO PDF with translations.

Translation; [COLOR=‘DarkRed’]We want to turn Skyrim into World of Warcraft.

Translation; [COLOR=‘DarkRed’]We need to make the controls, visuals and UI the same as WoW.

Translation; [COLOR=‘DarkRed’]We decided that the previous TES games had too much innovation. We don’t want that and basically would just like to ape WoW

Translation; [COLOR=‘DarkRed’]That was cool, right? Well, don’t expect to be doing the same in this game.

Translation; [COLOR=‘DarkRed’] If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Translation; [COLOR=‘DarkRed’] This is our one attempt to be different from WoW…we will restrict players.

Now, I’m not suggesting that they should try and revolutionize the MMO genre, but doing something a little different would be welcome. I played WoW since vanilla but stopped playing properly after Wrath. I picked it back up when Cata was released, but it only held my interest for a few months. I’ll probably check out Pandaria, but I doubt it will be interesting enough to keep me playing long. WoW is a great game, but that doesn’t mean that EVERY SINGLE MMO has to be the same. It’s boring. I really wish something original would come out, but it looks like we’ll have to wait for Blizzard to release Titan for that to happen. I have the feeling that Titan is probably a Starcraft MMO. It would actually be great to see a shooter MMO which doesn’t work on a turn based system. If anyone can pull it off, Blizz will. Which is just sad. Why do we all have to rely on Blizzard to do these things? Why don’t we have other companies trying to make a MMO shooter with real time firing? I know they have problems with such a huge world and latency when it comes to shooters, but maybe think around it by perhaps having smaller world populations.

A MMO of STALKER would work in such a way because the ‘zone’ isn’t supposed to be massively populated by people.

“Announcement Trailer”

I hope we’re able to pretend this never existed.

EDIT:
I mean, I tried to be positive, but this is fucking DISGUSTING. First person? Nope. Memorable TES artstyle? Nope we cartooned the shit out of it. Intuitive questing system? Nope, fetch quests.

It isn’t going to play anything like a TES game, and the storyline seems weak. I am not excited for this one.

EDIT:EDIT:
If they could’ve at least made it LOOK like the TES universe- fuck, like it came out of the same dimension even, I’d probably give it a shot just to see all of Tamriel. They couldn’t even get THAT right though. They should’ve had the team working on the real TES games help them out.

EDIT:EDIT:EDIT:
As much as I hate Kotaku, there is one thing that still gives me the slightest bit of hope.

All my hopes and dreams dashed in less than 24 hours.

Oh well.

I’m hesitant about a Elderscrolls MMO for the fact that, for me at least, what made the games so good was the fact that the player was the center of this epic fantasy story. How do you project that in an MMO? I’ll wait for more details to be released, but for now, I feel Elderscolls is best as a single player game.

BTW, I believe this game has been in development for the last several years so it’s not like they just popped up and said “hey. I know. Let’s put out an MMO next year.” The rumor of an Elderscrolls MMO has been swirling in the gaming industry undercurrents for a while.

Hm, have you checked out TSW (The Secret World) that will be released in less than two months. It will definitely be original and different.

I don’t understand why people are saying that the player in TES is always the main guy? In Oblivion you where like a nobody who just helped Martin.

And then you wrote a frikkin’ Elder Scroll.

Ahhhh yes, thanks for reminding me of this, I had completely forgotten.
I haven’t seen any gameplay, but the mechanics certainly sound interesting and I hope they can pull it off.

The graphics, sad to say.

dafuq is this shit

A screenshot of the game. Someone posted a pdf file earlier with a bunch of screenshots.

Nevermind then

You do know how long ago those two games were put out dontcha?

He isn’t complaining that the graphics are bad, he’s just saying they give him and headache and thus he cannot play them. On this topic rot have you heard of DaggerXL and do you think that might fix your problem?

No I hadn’t seen it. I’ll definitely take a look at that, thanks a ton Ninja!

Well tbh I don’t think its finished yet. Last I checked you could explore the world but couldn’t really do anything else. It’ll probably be awhile until its in a playable state.

Yeah right now you can only explore the world and loot dungeons - the project supports several games so that probably contributes to it taking longer

There might be a new release soon though

I’m surprised I never had a problem with it, considering the first time I played it was on my current monitor - so it was 320x200 stretched to 1680x1050.

Here is an interview.

Oh, my bad. I thought he was commenting on how bad (dated) the graphics were. :retard:
