Tired of paying a flat rate of $60 for a single player game? Well now you can pay $15 a month for one!

There’s a lot of info about this mmo on Game Informer but I had thought this thread came to the consensus that nobody even hardcore TES fans gives a fuck about it. If anyone thinks otherwise let me know and I’ll actually bother posting info as it comes out because I still keep a bit of an eye on this despite expecting it to be garbage.

I give a fuck if I can go from one end of Tamriel to the other for free.

Otherwise, fucks will not be given.

Yeah honestly I get the feeling like many mmorpg before it this is going to bomb and go F2P.

Subscription-based MMOs is a pretty archaic system that should really die off at this point, considering what some games manage with a free-to-play model.

What is it they “need” the money for anyway? Last I heard of it was that it’s for creating updates, but that seems pretty bullshit, and if it’s not, it could probably be supported by micro-transactions or whatever.

I always thought that the money went toward server maintenance.

Either way, I don’t feel like having to deal with micro-transactions. I fear it would turn into something like LotR Online where you can’t do shit after a certain point unless you pay those micro-transactions.

I’m fine with the current subscriptions.

:expressionless:

I agree with this. I doubt I would pay the price for entry to this unless I knew I could travel the whole continent as much as I wanted without having to pay a subscription.

Something just occurred to me as to how a Elderscrolls MMO could work. If it’s based in the time during the wars. When the dwarves were still around. Just a thought.

EDIT: The more I read (mostly from Game Informers ESO Hub) that’s what appears to be the setting for ESO. During the Second Era, before any of the games take place, when the Four Way War was going on. I am becoming a little more interested in the game now. (call me a masochist).

Please don’t be a WoW clone. Please don’t be stupid easy. Please don’t allow stupid game trivializing add-ons.Zynga has been known for the developer of social games, but the folks at Zynga now publishes puzzle games such as bubble safari and recently I noticed koram game has developed a game based on anime style serenia fantasy series, which try to compete againt pockie pirates. Such a browser game can be better than a single social game. happy with your friends and family.

I wouldn’t be so sure of them if they tell you that you can explore all of Tameriel or that its really big. Remember daggerfall?

Arena covered all of Tamriel. It was kinda cool.

Obviously, TES Online won’t be on the scale of Daggerfall, let alone Arena though (in Arena, every area outside of the city was literally infinite, you could only fast travel from town to town).

What I am saying, is they can give you lots of freedom and still fuck it up. Daggerfall had a massive land area but exploring sucked because it was uninteresting.

It was generated randomly back then, kinda like diablo

im not sure where i am with this game, it looks, well, it looks shit. im not sure that elder scrolls should ever be played with more than 2 people.

I love The Elder Scrolls series, but this looks just plain awful.

There was A Kotaku (yes, Kotaku. sue me.) article on this game that made it look pretty interesting:

TES should move on to Akavir.

That would be interesting

But possibly not so soon after Mists of Pandaria is released.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
