Steam Summer Sale 2012

You get a hell of a lot more leeway when it comes to getting noticed by enemies. The mechanics allow for you to get spotted and recover, circle back around on enemies when they’re looking for you in the last place they saw you, etc. I still don’t think it’s possible to play like a normal shooter, just running around fucking shit up.

It’s always more fun (and challenging) to play through without being noticed at all, though.

Alice Madness Returns if $5, go get it. It’s a really cool platformer with some combat.

Wait, what? I guess we all know Valve has math (or insanity) problems by now. What with the craziness of these sales.

Apparently the numbers were switched. If you refresh the percent of Metro and Bioshock switch.

I can recommend it. It gets repetitive after a while, but the story will make it.

I think there’s a minor difference in pricing between regions.

Yeah I heard about that…

You could find someone in the US to buy it for you and then trade or pay the money for it.

OMFG!!!.. I bought Dead Island today for ten bones… I have never, ever dreamt that a fucking game could take so long to load… er… anything. And I have a monster dual-processor w/ 12GB and a raid. I didn’t time it, but it must take like over 4 minutes to load a level… eeks! Shit, it takes well over a minute just to quit. I never heard of this piece-of-shit Chrome engine before… now I know why. Though, the game itself is not too bad. Very different from L4D. I do enjoy being a lone wolf for a change. I’m just not sure I would have bought this farkin’ thing if I knew about loads. Maybe games should start getting disclaimers… similar to prescription drug commercials!

so its only got a half hour left, but The Witcher 2 is $16 and easily one of my two favorite RPGs (the other being the Witcher 1 which is on sale for less than 3 for the next half hour) i would heavily reccomend picking them up if you can. very very well written, great RPG elements, fantastic games.

O.o
I’ve got only got 4GB RAM and don’t have a RAID setup, yet it only takes ~10 seconds to load a level and the game exits almost instantly.

I have a more then decent pc, yet Dead island runs pretty laggy on it …

So can someone remind me which competitors last Community’s choice had? The one that L.A Noire won. I came home last night and I know that I voted for something but I don’t remember L.A Noire even being one of them.

I think the competitors were Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Quantum Conundrum… but don’t quote me on that :tired:

Just got LA Noir for $5! I love this sale.

Amnesia seems right but not Quantum Conundrum since that one was in the votings when I woke up.

EDIT: It was Alan Wake, googled on "Amnesia, L.A Noire and found a SPUF thread; Amnesia, Alan Wake, and LA Noire.

EDIT2: This is really not good for my wallet, it’s only day 4 and I’ve already nearing my budget cap.
This is what I’ve bought so far:

  • Deus Ex HR + Missing link (10,23€)
  • Saints Row: The Third (7,49€)
  • Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (2,49€)
  • Penumbra Collector pack (4,49€)
  • Binding of Isaac: Wrath of the lamb (0,74€)
  • Alan Wake Franchise (8,99€)
  • Bioshock Franchise Pack (9,99€)
  • The Hitman Collection (4,99€)
  • Killing Floor Bundle - July 2012 (6,24€)
  • Prince of Persia Complete Pack (9,99€)

65,64€

nvm

Don’t worry, you’ll spend more than 65.64 hours with all this shit

If ya’ll don’t already have it, Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (and by extention Escape from Butcher Bay) is half off for 10 usd. I highly HIGHLY fucking recommend it.

75% off Bastion.

Any good?

Yes. Great game.
