The guys over at SPUF is already making a list of good lesser known games with discounts in the ‘Hidden Gems of Summer Sale 2012’ thread.

Let’s use this thread to discuss the sale.

So far I’ve bought Deus Ex: Human Revolution + The missing link DLC and I’m currently making a list of games that I’ll buy if I have money left over at the end of the sale.

I’m going to get Legend of Grimrock today, and have a few I’m waiting on being daily deals or flash sales, but will pick up on the last day if they aren’t ever DD/FS.

so how do these work? is there a chance that things will go even more on sale later, or might I as well buy Max Payne 3 right now?

It’s best to wait until a specific game you want is on daily sale. If not, just buy it on the last day.

Pretty much what Maxey said. I’ve made that mistake before.

Just bought Hard Reset – I’m a sucker for anything and everything CyberPunk.

I might grab Human Revolution, too if it’s cheap enough; only renting that on the 360 was a mistake.

Human Revolution was a flash sale until ~30 minutes before you posted. Hope it comes around again for you :stuck_out_tongue:

Are any of the Fear games besides the original worth it? I’m thinking of just getting the first one.

Probably not, I didn’t find the second that good. I don’t know about 3 but if two started a trend its probably not scary at all.

Yay, Summer Sale!

Oh wait, Steam doesn’t accept my credit card. Better to move along.

Yeah, it’s not like that you can still buy games via Paysafecard, which you find at every gasstation in the whole world.

The awkward moment when you see Black mesa on the list…

I’m currently in Estonia, they don’t have them in here.

And PaySafeCard’s are sold in Finland, but Steam doesn’t support it.
I’d have to use a proxy to buy something from Steam with PaySafecards.

Don’t you have Internet banks with E-card services down there? Whenever I want to spend money online, I’ll just login to my bank and create an E-card.

So Hard Reset (Indie-game I just bought - was on sale) is actually visually more pleasing than Deus Ex:HR graphics-wise, and as a Cyberpunk styled game.

At least I think – what do you guys think?

It’s a nice looking game, but it gets repetitive after a while.

Yeah, it does.
I’m playing it just to look at it, honestly, lol.
The CyberGoth atmosphere puts me under a spell, I guess.

But it obviously has nothing on Deus Ex as far as being a fun and well-written game.

I take back what I said.

It also gets some nice updates that add additional content to the game.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
