youtube seems to consistently work in the overlay now. hooray for webkit! though this would not be needed if there was a media player, which would be beyond awesome.

If you can’t connect to steam any more, just disconnect your internet and start steam in offline mode, put your internet back in and steam will launch again.
Didn’t like it (I like the simplicity of normal steam). Tried to go back to the old steam, won’t start. :’(

Looks pretty slick, but in the spirit of laziness, I’ll wait until it’s out of beta and all the bugs have been ironed out before I give it a try.

Anyone who wants the old steam back; Try making a new shortcut, then adding ‘-clearbeta’ to the end of the ‘Target’ line. It worked great for me.

Why does the store page say that HL2 has HDR available?
It also has achievements. Take a look at the HL2 game details with the new UI.
It would be awesome if they’ve reworked HL2 to have HDR and achievements! But I think it only refers to the console versions of HL2 in the Orange Box
Well finally it’s not so ugly, I guess I’ll just need an adaptation time… Damn, I can’t believe the old skin is gone.

Also, It’s cool that they might be giving HL2 an update- I just don’t know if I can download all the maps again without hitting my limit.

ORLY what? Just because it lists those achievements doesn’t mean the PC version has them. Maybe they just put them on there so people will think it has achievements even though only the console version has them. Maybe they just put them on there by mistake.

I remember the first time they released the beta of Steam. That thing was just pure shit on a stick. To the point where nothing would even work (and it had the ugliest skin imaginable).
They’re working on an Ubuntu/Linux version, but I haven’t heard any word on an OSX one.
EDIT: Scratch that! As of yesterday… Have fun playing Peggle.

I am really liking the update. The sounds are a lot less harsh, and don’t sound like 16 bit wavs that someone recorded with a laptop microphone.
