Steam GUI Update!

Looks gay tbh.

Most of it is pointless, only thing I like so far is having invites at the top of friends cuz I never check my invites or my profile.

Should have updated to tabbed chat windows, added the ability to personally group friends, file transferring, video chat, statuses, etc.

Those should be in chat moments thread, but, WUTEVAR

Has anyone checked to see if there are alternate skins like steam (I guess now it’s “classic”) has?

It’s just the one.

I kinda hope that if we don’t like it we can opt out for steam classic, or atleast a skin that can make it look like the original steam.

same here

I just want my Slim steam games window back.

This happened to me, I did

C:\Steam\Steam.exe -clearbeta (Replace C:\Steam etc. with your steam directory)

in the Run window, and that fixed it.

As long as they don’t give you the old steam client if you opt out of the new look when it’s made default, then fine.
The reason I say this is the old Steam client took up ~60MB of RAM and quite a bit of CPU just for the store page, with the new client it takes up ~27MB of RAM for the store, bm chat and three private chats with hardly any CPU usage.

this GUI, although still in beta fits in with the feel of windows vista and 7

I’m glad it’s beta. Feels complex as all hell.

Didn’t work. Anyways, I ended up having to reinstall Steam. That means I lost all my Gmod addons, all my Mods, and I have to reinstall all my games. :mean:

Should’ve moved your steamapps folder then moved it into the new install.

Too late now.

That’s funny, here, old UI uses ~100mb even when windowed, while the newer one uses double that and eats CPU like crazy.

Don’t update it if you own MW2. This update sent my beautiful, crash free, sexy, awesome version to jesus. yeah. Localization.ltx ruined my day. Oh yes, the new UI didn’t work… it crashed D: D: D:

Holy crap that’s a lot of RAM!

I just went offline in Steam and it’s gone up to 105MB from 27MB. I smell tomfoolery.

Its still damn sweet, but those woulda been cool. ESPECIALLY the ones in bold :3
.

So you’re gonna group everyone except SassyRobot, Soup and Jokerine under fags?
Oh and me under “SLAG” of course.

and Eric Fong.
