Special Moments in Games

Killzone 2 - That huge epic battle outside of Visari Palace (or w/e its called) as the the ISA try to storm the palace, against waves of Helghast who are well dug in and putting heavy fire on the ISA forces.

L4D2 - Getting the chainsaw and running straight through a huge horde slicing through them as if they were butter and thinking “fuck yeah” afterwards.

HL2 - “Welcome to City 17, its safer here…”

HL2EP2 - Seeing Dog rape the shit outta that strider, the Borealis, and seeing the rocket take off knowing that Mr. Gnome was tucked away safely inside the nose cone.

Fallout 3 - Killing the annoying man with 100 plasma mines on the top of Tenpenny Tower.

There alot more too, but it would take too long to type them all out.

Few new(er) moments:
L4D2 - The Parish - Constantly going back to those silly Computer-players about 10 times to get them to the chopper, until the pilot threatened to leave. I literally felt like a bad person, being the only one on the chopper, watching a Tank pummel the bodies.

Garry’s Mod - Rp server - Hosting a large scale printer bust, where while fighting off around 10 players in the mob, we open a door and around twenty money printers fell out. I felt special.

Oblivion - Wreaking havoc on a small town as a Vampire, and treating it as my own.

Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War II - Playing the final mission in co-op with a friend, and splitting up to take all the objectives until the final part.

Portal - Every moment.

Empire Earth (Not the new 2 and 3 crap, the real deal.) - Arranging a massive wall of soldiers to meet the enemy in the middle of the battlefield.

MGS4: The microwave hallway with everything going on around it and then the final fight with Liquid. Just completely epic.

Riven: Basically the entire ending cinema. Was a great ending after all the hard work to get there.

I also have to add Majoras Mask.
The first moments of the game, when Link does a frontflip when jumping and being turned into a Deku.

Such a classic game…

HL2:EP2: When Alyx was beaten up by the Hunter. It made me feel bad I didn’t/couldn’t save her.

HL: Launching the rocket. I felt like I accomplished something until I found out it just made Nihilanth more powerful (That is what happened, right?)

Half Life series: Epic “WTF. Who is this Gman guy?” moments.

Monster Hunter: Finally Killing Lao Shan Lung and Fatalis.

Halo Combat Evolved: Learning about the Flood, and the scene where Cortana and Guilty Spark argue.

Fear 2: Project Origin: The final cutscene, you know why.

Half Life: When you finally talk to the G-Man, it honestly scared the crap out of me and made the entire series worth it in my opinion.

Dead Space: Specifically finding out that I could get the Tank Suit free from the first store I found on Impossible. After that, it practically played itself.

Crysis: Finally getting through the door before the captain dies. The game glitched and it took me 4 hours working in the console to fix it.

Crysis Warhead: The airport battle.

Armored Core 4 Answer: Taking out the cradles and killing hundreds of thousands of people.

Armored Core Silent Line: Taking out the Satellite

Armored Core 3: Defeating the Controller.

Final Fantasy 7: The first time using Knights of Round

Myst 1-4: The endings were great imho

Starcraft: Kerrigan’s turning

Robot Arena 2: Design and Destroy: Creating a middleweight that could easily beat all of the heavyweights

Shattered Horizons: The first time I played it and MOVED.

Mass Effect 1 and 2: The stories

Fallout 3: First time using the Fat Man and the M.I.R.V.

Portal: Leaving the test chambers

Team Fortress 2: Holding of an invincible opposing team (10 of them) with 7 level 3 turrets, 9 engineers, and no losses to our side

Halo 2 PC: Realizing that even with a frame rate lower than 20, ridiculous lag, and the shivers from a very very cold room, I was still better than almost everyone online

Halo Custom Edition: Piloting a Scarab offensively in an online match

Halo 3: Finally killing Guilty Spark, and having him stay dead.

Pokemon R,B,Y: Capturing Mewtwo

Oh, and of course Gman’s heart to heart from Episode 2

“Dr Freeman…”

I completely wasn’t expecting that

Mine has to be the bit in borderlands when that atlas lady gets stabbed through the stomach by that monster, That made me laugh

Have to add on the end of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. Only because it took years for my brother and I to finally get around to beating, and I love the music in the opening and ending.

Getting the fully upgraded Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device in Portal.

I second this so very much. I love the Myst games.

Killing Floor - Killing the Patriarch for the first time. THEN killing Patty with a chainsaw for the first time.

I got goosebumps the first time I put on the HEV suit in Half Life 2. The “DOOOoooounnnn…daa-dooooon…” with Gordon looking at his hands? Chills!

That’s one of the greatest speeches in video game history!

Killing Diablo for the first time in the original game after dying thousands of times.

Then killing him again in the second game.

And a reserved spot here for killing that horned motherfucker in the third game, if he ever shows up in it.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl* First underground lab, seeing a box lift off the ground with nothing around.
Man that was exciting. I retreated full-sprint for 20 seconds and camped the stairs for 80 more. Gunning down the first poltergeist was overwhelmingly satisfying, those invisible bastards suddenly became mortal.
• Having a bloodsucker pop up behind you for the first time.
Somewhere on the surface unexpectedly… those things are the devil.
Fuck yeah, I fucking loved that first underground lab. Scared the crap out of me, the atmosphere was amazing!

Legend of Zelda: Twilght Princess- Picking up a dog
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker- Picking up a morbidly obese pig
Just Cause 2- uFinally getting a frame rate of about 60 fps during the final mission when fighting Baby Panay for the last time
Counter-Strike: Source- Having your player model stand like a scarecrow with his gun coming from the WRONG PART OF HIS BODY.

I don’t remember there being a dog in Twilight Princess that you could pick up, in what part of the game was it?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
