Special Moments in Games

We all have had them, the special moments in gaming. These includes anything, such as beating Nihilanth in Half-Life to finally get that specific weapon in Modern Warfare. It may be nostalgic or anything that makes you pissed at the game and you will always remember it for that reason.
So what can you remember which was special for you?

There you have it

I have a couple which includes :

Super Mario Galaxy - Bowser’s Star Reactor, hearing this awesome tune of Koopa’s Road from Super Mario 64 gave me a tear.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - When you first enter Temple of Time and hear the classic tune from Ocarina of Time. Satisfying!

Super Ghouls and Ghosts - When you finally complete all the levels and are at the doorstep to the final boss : “Go back and get the sheild/amulet(Can’t remember what it was)”. And you have to start all over again…I was sooooo pissed at the game and have never played it since then. Damn you Capcom for making such a hard game!!

Secret of Mana - When the game is closing in and you defeat the final boss, you never had a chance to say goodbye to the Sprite child. A little sad, but I still remember it.

F-Zero GX - When you finally complete the Final Mission on Story Mode, Falcon takes his helmet off… and credits starts to roll…Was that it? Pissed me off a little.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - The Return to Shadow Moses Island, when you first enter the Heliport and “The Best Is Yet To Come” starts play. Such an epic moment for me.

God of War 3 - The Ending, when Kratos takes suicide. I was left confused and a little sad. Such an epic game and a “What the…” ending.

Gears of War 2 - The “Final Boss” Battle, this was somewhat a disappointment, such a great game with such an easy “Final Boss”

Obtaining the hand cannon in RE4.

When the Forward Unto Dawn lands on that level of Halo 3. So freaking huge and whoosh

The first time you take down a gunship in Half-Life 2 and that “you are such a badass, you know that?” song plays. Or the time you come out of the pipe and meet the hunter-chopper head on with your new turret gun. I can picture the pilot going “WTF” in my head. Just about all the Combine combat. I don’t care if people say their AI is fail, it’s just satisfying to kill them IMO.

Every time I finish an additional in Legend of Dragoon.

Flying over the warehouse in GTA4 where Roman is kidnapped by Dimitri, then being shot down by an RPG but surviving and landing in the middle of the warehouse full of enemies, then pulling out my MP5 and eliminating everyone, all the while yelling “I WILL RIP YOUR FUCKING HEART OUT!” Or the entire bank heist scene.

Every second of SMOD.

Flipping the Stone Tower Temple in Majora’s Mask.

Using the dual hidden blades to stab about 6 people in the face before they realized I was there in Assassin’s Creed 2.

The end of Modern Warfare 2. It’s like they took a bucket of badass and dumped it on the final few minutes. inb4HAET

Realizing there was a G3 in L4D2.

Shooting down the gunship in Episode 1 in the destructible building.

I could go on for a while but I’ll stop here.

In HL2 when you open the doors of the train station and you see the city for the first time.

Epic moments in gaming are quite common with me. First of all, I liked when I was playing Fallout 3, and looking out over DC from the Washington Monument. That, and the point where that thing happens… with Liberty Prime… sniff
One really epic moment was when I was playing Half-Life 2, when you’re trying to hold off the Combine while you wait for the teleport to prepare. I always like it in games when you hold off entire swarms of enemies.
Next one was Episode… Well, honestly I’m confused which one it was, but when you hold off the Antlions and protect Alyx and the Vortigaunts. Not only is the music awesome, but again, there is the whole thing of swarms of enemies.
The last one I’m going to point out is in Left 4 Dead on the hospital rooftop, I was playing with a friend and as I ran up to the helicopter, all 3 were in the helicopter, and I leapt towards it a smoker shot out and grabbed me.
Those are my favorite epic moments in gaming.

DESERVES A SPOILER WARNING YOU FOOL

OKAY HERE IT IS:
SPOILER WARNING

Half-Life 2 - Coming around a corner seeing a combine soldier fiddling with something, then shooting him dead and realizing what he was trying to do as the un-armed grenade rolled down the embankment towards me…

Sword of the Stars - Facing a wave of destroyers and cruisers my dreadnought fire its lancers, then suddenly proceeds to turn cutting thru a large part of the enemy fleet in one go, maybe 30-40 ships. A real B5 moment. I posted about it on the official forums and even the games developers thought it was awesome.

for me a special Moment in gaming had to be when You log onto Bioshock 2 multiplayer and realize how terrible it is

You didn’t get that from the trailers?

Killing the nihilanth with a snark that I saved just for that purpose.

Dying right as I kill Nihilanth and finishing the rest of Half Life dead.

Up up, down down, left right, left right, B, A, Start.

the konami code. :expressionless: hes back. :frowning:

What part was that? Can’t seem to remember it.

Stepping out of Vault 101 for the first time and seeing the wasteland in all its glory.

The end of final fantasy x

The bit in system shock 2 where you finally find out who’s been giving you instructions by radio…

Many bits of metal gear solid 3… best ones are climbing the ladder for about 5 minutes straight while the music floats up on the wind, and at the end when the field of flowers turns red

Ok, I’ve tried to avoid spoilers, but hopefully anyone who’s shared these moments knows what I’m on about :stuck_out_tongue:

Second that

And then whacking it with a crowbar, much to Alyx’s delight!

Zombies Ate my Neighbors: Randomly finding a bazooka in the first lev.

Caesar: Building a bunch of houses close together and then just sitting back and watching them all burn to the ground.

Blood Bowl: Goblins with chainsaws.

TF2: Turning the corner while playing spy to find that the entire enemy team has decided to play Pyro
