So what games did you buy in the Steam (and other) Christmas sales?

In previous years, I’ve gone on oblivious to the awesome deals on offer every Christmas (and other holiday times) on Steam (and other digital distribution services), but not any longer! Even though I’m currently on holiday, I braved the dodgy Chinese internet I’m using to cash in on some of the deals.

So far I’ve bought Batman: Arkham Asylum, the first three Splinter Cell games and two Monkey Island games for about $20. I’m planning to pick up Torchlight and The Adventures of P.B. Winterbottom, currently $5 and $0.50 respectively, before the end of the sales. I’m also hoping that Bad Company 2 re-emerges by the end of the period, because its not available for sale in China :frowning: .

Given that there are so many awesome deals going around, what has everyone else picked up? Or is hoping to pick up?

So far I got Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, the new AvP, Bioshock 2, Super Meat Boy and Tomb Raider Underworld.

You can buy games through Steam?![COLOR=‘Black’] (Yes, I know you can; I got STO that way)

Is that supposed to be a joke or something?

[color=Black]Bad joke was bad.

I bought “Just Cause 2” and its DLCs.
btw, did someone notice that “The Witcher” was available for 1€ for about 45 minutes?

I (finally) bought Team Fortress 2. I’m waiting to see what all these hats are about in the game or whatever :stuck_out_tongue: Haven’t seen them on the 360.

Bought the Humble Indie Bundle 2 for $0.01

Bought the Natural Selection 2-for-1 holiday special, although not sure if it

counts - even though It’s run on steam, you buy it through another source and

it gets activated on steam.

FEAR whatever edition. Cheap and with the expansions. Already had the game on disc but who cares lol.

I haven’t bought any this time around, but I did buy GTA IV and Mass Effect in a past sale.

Did you realized that Maxey is omnipresent in this forum he can post immediately when a thread is opened what is his secret? he receive newsletter in his email when a thread was started? :stuck_out_tongue:

Alien vs Predator, damn that’s a huge download

There are too many items now, they’re not really special anymore.

Too far VALVe, too far…

I actually replied 3 minutes after the thread was posted.

On Steam I got the Bethesda pack, Red Faction 1 and 2, The Witcher, and the F.E.A.R. pack.

On Xbox Live, I got Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, and I’m impatiently waiting to see what Mass Effect 2 stuff they have on sale tomorrow. (they fucking better have the Shadow Broker and not a bunch of weapon/skin packs)

I also got (free) glasses like the ones Dan put on Gordon for my avatar.

Let’s see, I got…

Darksiders
Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time
Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box
Puzzle Quest

Not much overall. It’s partly that I own a lot of games as it is, also partially the sales have sucked. The only thing I’m remotely interested in today (and don’t own) is Lost Planet 2, and they seem to be overestimating its value by about $19.

Battlefield 2
And on a side note, I’m happy to see people are getting AVP. That was my main online game for febuary through september. Fun combat, cool skins, cool maps, and cool races. Hope you guys enjoy it.

Battlefield Bad Company 2
Batman Arkham Asylum
Amnesia The Dark Descent
Prince of Persia 2008 (That one with the comic graphics)

Everything costed me only 30 euro, I love steam!
