Prototype

You said those things, albeit in a far more comprehensible manner. You didn’t actually make any decent points, just “I don’t like it because you kill people a lot.”

I didn’t mention the graphics or any of the rest. I was only saying that I dislike the game. I have bought, played and completed the game, so any point I make should be considered valid.

I’m not just some guy who has never touched the game, saying that I hate it. All things I say are my opinion, and any gamer looking for an intriguing and interesting game that takes some thought should stay away.

Your opinion is valid, but at least give us some decent reasoning.

you’re?

Capitals?

FAIL.

I will repeat all my points again.

The game requires almost no thought to play.
It brings nothing new to the table, all has been seen before.
It feels unfinished, despite a few delays.

I am not trying to convince others not to play it, I am just saying that I dislike it.

The points are decent enough to say that I dislike it, it is just not my type of game.
I prefer things like Half-life 1, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Portal.

Even on medium, the game is hard and required some amount of tactical thought to complete it. I wouldn’t say that’s a lack of thought.

The Web of Intrigue is quite new, as is the dynamic weapon changing system and the parcour is kind of new (sort of done before, but no nearly in the same way). Even if it didn’t bring anything new, it’s all brought forward in a fairly fresh.

I wouldn’t say it feels unfinished. There aren’t many bugs at all (only minor ones that aren’t really annoying). Also, for it’s genre, it’s got a decent length when just playing the story, and the events, landmark/hint orbs and WOI targets add to that.

EDIT: Lamsey, that’s so 'shopped… :mono:

It’s lies!

I don’t see what it has to do with anything but anyway.

My list of must have classics.

Half-Life (98 FPS)
Starcraft (98 RTS)
Little Big Adventure 2 (97 RPG Freeroam game)
Tiberian Sun (any C&C for that matter) (99 RTS)
Call of Duty series (03 FPS)
Baldur’s Gate (98 RPG)

I could go on, but these are really the core elements.

Now, I don’t know how you beat Elizabeth Greene, both the supreme hunters in Prototype without thought, nor half the missions, that said, I honestly don’t think you finished the story.

Nothing new?

First time I’ve played a game where you character can fashion weapons with his body parts or adapt guns into the works so well as well.

Feels unfinshed? what part? You can’t just say soemthing bad about it and not say what it is.

The delays were worth it, I was waiting for this in Dec/Jan/Feb this year and this version compared to that looks 100x more refined then the media they released back then.

I will admit the parts that feel unfinished are the enemy AI when you are in disguise.

I guess so, but that amused me more than anything else. It didn’t really detract from anything.

I’m just glad to finally have a system you can take out dudes with stealth without it fucking up.

I’ve played many games that claim you can take out enemies without them being alerted, to find as soon as I do it, every bad guy has seen and gone ‘oh lawlz, shoot him’.

Thought, you should at least make it so that if a military guy is watching you do it, they get a bit sus.

My main strat for taking out a base is go inside, gain the new unlocks if any, wipe out every chum inside, go out, consume every dude guarding the base, then throw every piece if crap at it till it explodes to avoid as many strike teams or fags with rocket launchers.

How do you avoid those detectors which can see through your disguise.

Oh wait, you do avoid them don’t you?

Sabotaging them annoys me. I have slow reaction times so pressing the sequence does my nut right in.

Throwing stuff at them works just fine

Everyone skated right past this post, but WTF?

Off the top of my head, my three favourite puzzles in HL were smashing the box that had jammed the water pump, allowing the flooded rooms to be drained, the power to be restored, and thus the first gargantua electrocuted; finding and restoring the power, oxygen and fuel lines to the test rocket chamber so the tentacles could be fried; and using the mirrors to align the lasers in the testing labs where you find the Tau cannon so that you could blow a hole in the wall.

The one where you obstruct the Laser was good as well, so it blows a nice, flaming hole in the wall.

I’m getting this game.

Violent video games are what keep kids off the streets. This is like, if Stalin teamed up with KFC violence we’re talking here.

Err, that was the third one I mentioned. You had to combine several lasers into one beam via mirrors first.

Stand on a building away from them, use the whip fist to take them out in 2 shots.

Then run to avoid super soldiers if you compromised yourself.

If not, move onto the next, once all those are gone I would either charge in and start slaughtering, or take out the dudes one by one depending on what I was there for.

personally, I love prototype for the being an awsome superpowered dude that has to be attacked by over 9000 people to be defeted. supersoldiers SERIOUSLY threw off muh groove.
