Get out, seriously. Are you going to say that you’re not XBox fanboy, after the last two sentences?
Yeah, I sold my white XBox360 and bought my PS3 in Singapore for $249. But that is not the case.
The case is, I did not dig the pretentious, “larger than life” attitude of Natal presenters, while they show nothing more than some gimmicky casual stuff. And pre-programmed burnout.
They talk big (liek blah blah blah nintendo is pwnt xD xD xD xD) while they show less.
Sony, on the other hand - less talk, more shown. They stand on much more solid ground.
MS is yet to prove that Natal is worth it’s price. What we got on Natal is some gimmicky presentation, couple of retarded ads and tons of press. While Sony already showed that their “butt plugs” are capable of something more than dodgeball. In a single video.
I’m still not talking to sony because they ruined the PSP brand.
By announcing this?

yeah, this looks like shit, but i still can swallow it.
But hey, they are not ditching UMDs
Go Nintendo? … I think I’ll just go hide in a corner.
I think this looks pretty cool. I would probably find it a bit odd to do things like drive without a physical object to hold on to though. I also want to know how it works in those games where you have to walk, like that one where the kid was Godzilla or whatever. What happens when he runs out of floor space and walks into the TV?
Fix’d
hahahahah, well, actually, they are!
I’m sure you knew that and it was sarcasm, but I’m just making sure.
I was actually referring to the fact that all of the subsequent games will be available via downloadable content AS WELL as via UMD.
They’re not ditching the support for older PSPs as well. the new firmware will be compatible with 2000 and 3000.
Yeah ok, i am a big fan of the Xbox 360, but i can admit that fact, you cannot tell me you aren’t a sony fanboy after the way you’ve been carrying on
so if people prefer controllers, how exactly did nintendo get owned?
the sony wand is pretty much a wii remote with motion plus. they didn’t do anything in that tech demo that nintendo can’t already do in games.
and imo, natal isn’t gonna be very useful and/or compatible with fps and comparable games. i see it as a niche product (people going minority report while surfing the internet/movies/music/etc). and i dunno where odb has been living, but natal will probly cost $50-$100.
it’s a webcam, a mic, and a depth sensor in a box. what’s expensive about that? it’s the software that’s doing all the impressive stuff
also, why are you all comparing natal and the sony wand? they’re totally different things.
adur
Needs moar interactive pronz imo
You could totally do that anyway, since the avatars follow your motion no matter what.
Just watch what you’re humping IRL.
[accent=Geordie]Holy. Fuck.[/accent]
You’re denying that you’re a fan boy? You’ve been constantly ranting that Microsoft lied and that Natal was fake etc. Then, when proven wrong, you started saying it wasn’t worth it, and that it wouldn’t be fun, and that the Sony glowsticks were better. For no reason.
Seriously, the Wii has the same technology the glowsticks do. Project Natal can register every moment of the body, including facial expression, and probably finger movement. How is that not better than waving two sticks around that don’t even work that well?
I saw the demo of the Sony thing, and it was unimpressive. The movements didn’t translate well at all, to the point where he could barely fire the bow. Whereas Microsoft showed tonnes of things that Natal was capable of.
For no reason? Okay Soup, bro. Let me prove you wrong.
I was always telling the same goddamn thing and what I was ranting on all this time is MS pretending Natal to be super-advanced for such a low price (presumably, because no one knows shit about the price). Lightstage - it is super-advanced, yet it uses tons of cameras, not two and one infrared.
All Natal is capable of is some gimmicky casual stuff. At least basing on what Microsoft and their devoted crowd of e-zine editors showed us. Sony dildos showed us much more. I was always implying it - when I first posted here and after that I repeated it a couple more times for those who didn’t understand what I meant.
Good luck with facial expression bro. Good luck
You know, the guy is not a robot, his hands were shaking. And even then, the damn thing registered it. When firing the bow in real-life, you don’t have two dildos in your hands, you have a single mechanism in your hands.
Well, If Natal will work as they say it would, you will be able to put a real bow in your hands, yeah. IF it will work as they say.
Like dodgeball, burnout and two retarded ads? Until they show something beyond that, I’m not sold.
Even if I sounded fanboish, I did provide solid ground for my statements. Whereas most of you still talk out of your butt yelling how Natal is awesome. For no reason.
Sorry if I offended someone, but it is damn true.
And then, if you want a completely non-fanboyish statement. It’s still awesome that all three are actually doing something in the direction of alternative controllers.
Pro tip: firing a bow is an expensive waste of good wood and craftsmanship. You’re much better off shooting with it.
OldDirtyBastard: I’m sure there’s a bit in the FAQ about not raging or claiming the intellectual high ground, that sort of thing. You might want to give it a read.
Are you actually fucking kidding me? Sony have had some of the most pretentious and bullshit advertisements and presentations to show off their new tech over the last 10-15 years. Of course MS were going to push Natal and push it hard, it’s fucking E3. Everything at E3 is made out to be life changing and world saving when really it’s all just gimmicky, materialistic entertainment.
Microsoft were incredibly showy this year. They had short short intro talks to their previews and most of the games they showed off were via in-game, live footage instead of trailers.
They just announced it like a week ago, give them some time to let the press test it some more and to get more games up and running with the tech. Also, I don’t really see how Sony did any better than MS at demonstrating their new tech. If anything MS did better because whilst both Sony and MS had live demonstrations at their respective press conferences, MS let the press have more of a play around, even having playable Burnout for example… And of course Burnout was going to be programmed to use the new control system. Fucking duh, it’s a new fucking control system, it was always going to need extra coding!
TL;DR Fuck, now I’m screwed. You know, I get carried away so easily, even more IRL.
Well, I was talking strictly about their controller presentations. Sony controller presentation was straight business this time (it was about time, your right on that part Jambo), MS eye-shaded presenter was busy butt-talking and making cheap puns towards nintendo. That’s my personal impression, however, but i think many people will agree with me.
Again, I was not talking about E3 in a whole (this is frankly the subject of another thread), only about Natal and dildos. I’m quite sure that I’m not of the kind of dumbfucks who go “lololol Sony and Nintendo pwnt by MS”. Or other way around.
Hey chill Jambo. I still cannot see how Natal can show more than there is already shown.
If future proves me wrong, I will admit it.
The actual case was that there were certain individuals who claimed otherwise, which is of course, bullshit.
People have already answered your other vacuous points, so I’ll just nod towards this one:
I’m not sure what you meant by that. Are you saying I’m using the wrong word? Or just correcting an imaginary spelling error?
Also, thanks for the anal point there, Lamsey, it was certainly needed
At least I have a point, while everything most of you have to say is how Natal is OMG WTF BBQ AWSUM and how shitty are Sony dildos and how much they copy Wiimote, without any valid explanation.
I think I should stop now, before flaming starts.
Well I don’t think that Natal would be able to say if you are happy or sad by examining your facial expression.
Maybe you meant facial recognition tho.
Ooerr :fffuuu:
