Parts of Half Life you didn't like

yes

It’s all quite manageable. If you know which weapons to use.

I thought the building fight at the end of Follow Freeman was one of the best parts of HL2. On a Rail actually isn’t that bad for me…maybe because I just ignore the tram and go on foot, which speeds things up considerably. Forget about Freemen certainly seemed…lacking, though. Not sure why, but felt much shorter and less fleshed out than most of the others (though, to be fair, I don’t side the side route down the hall of snark traps). Residue Processing was also kind of meh.

On A Rail and Highway 17.

Are you kidding? Ep1 turned city 17 into a few barren streets and rooftops. Follow Freeman was a great chapter, the only problem I found with it was desperately trying to keep my squad alive inside the Nexus. Stupid rebels walk right into grenades and shotguns.

That was an entirely optional route and was put in place as a sort of easter egg to get more weapons. First few times I played I went the other way by smashing the boxes.

alot of people seem to not like Nova Prospect o.o but I really liked controlling the ant lions and just letting them do all the hard work.

Ill have to agree with alot of people on Highway 17 though ._. that level is just as longdrawn as On A Rail.

Gornarchs Lair or however you spell it. I hated that part, the most boring part of xen imo.

I also didn’t like Ravenholm.

Haha, yeah that part was fun. The rest I just didn’t really like for some reason. Like in the graveyard, I was like “When does this end?!?!”

The short bit in the mine after Ravenholm was alot worse than Ravenholm itself.

yeah I hated that part also

Because I thought it was fun

As did I.

On a rail.

I couldn’t figure out where to go in Ravenholm. That’s part of why I didn’t like it, spent forever in there using up all my ammo.

HL: Probably Interloper aswell. It was just stupid.

Hl2: The part where you have to ‘stay on the rocks’ just before the battle with the guardian. And then I’d still fall off atleast once to get those freaking annoying antlions kick the shit out of me.

Hl2 ep1: Nothing in particular, but the whole game was just kind of a repeat.

Hl2 ep2: Nothing. That game is just fucking fantastic.

Agreed

HL: XEN GONARCH INTERLOPER NIHILANTH = UUGGGHHHH :[ … Every time I play through the game I always quit in disgust as soon as I go through the Lambda Portal. :meh:

OaR was pretty repetitive but I can live with it, and the non-tram parts were good enough to make up for the tram riding parts.

HL2: Dunno, I liked pretty much all of it.
Ep1: Same as above.
Ep2: Same as above.

Sandtraps…I hate that level…

I like that part…

Definatly agreed

The last couple of battles in Opposing Force were awful. One is a really tall room and your goal is to jump to the floor from the roof while dodging those race X tank critters and black ops. And half of the objects you’d think to use to step down incrementally aren’t actually there - Shepard just falls right through them. And then comes the gene-worm out of nowhere, you weren’t looking for it or anything. Fighting it isn’t a fun puzzle like other boss battles - its just hit the weak spot for massive damage.

The introduction sequences are really well done, but going through them on subsequent playthroughs gets boring.

Aside from those though, the Half Life games have been great.

Why does everyone dislike Highway 17? It’s a chapter where you can truly go at your own pace. I personally take a leisurely drive, stopping off at all the houses to find goodies and get into gunfights with Overwatch troops.
