It is a concept which would have been good in a short chapter, but it seemed to be repetitive and not very fun.
I forgot to mention that I hated alot of the battles in Opposing Force.

Only battle I dislike in Opposing Force was the cargo bay full of assasins. Your squadmate armed with a SAW has a bad habit of gunning you down in that fight.
Well, did you like the bit where you emerge from the water and have to close the doors?
I hated that.
That’s not a battle, it’s one of those bloody infinite spawn areas that ruin games.
I think I’m the only one who likes most of it then.
I did hate the last bit on the level in Half Life 2: Follow Freeman, where you are on the rooftop near the strider bit.
Get to the horse!
I found it quite enjoyable, except when rebels got in the way of my rockets, killing me instantly with the blast.
Personally, I love the coast levels.
Especially that one combine soldier that runs out onto the middle of the road as I speed by. It’s so fun to slam into him. :3
I didn’t like the tunnel with the strider in Follow Freeman. If I try gunning it down, it kills me, if I try running, it kills me. And then, I have to go through the building with it shooting at me.
Last playthrough I had a squad with 2 Rocket launchers, and some Pulse rifles.
I thought I’d be able to make it with them alive. They all died before they could fire more than once. I ran out of rockets twice, so I had to find and take their launchers. :fffuuu:
I found it a bit disappointing that all your squadmates would usually die before you got to the tram.
Then again, they would just gib if they actually made it to the tram. Whatever, they were all idiots anyway.
I can’t think of anything I dislike about the series, I guess if I had to pick anything it would be when you have to outrun the Antlion Guardian in ep 2. I know I can get past it but I still get nervous at that part.
Haha yeah. I didn’t dislike it though.
But man like you said I also always totally get nervous there.
“Where’s it coming from?! Left? Right? Ohhhh shit there it is! Not enough sprint!”
Though in the end he (she?) hardly does any damage since you heal up. But 2 hits if you didn’t get enough healing and it’s over.
I tried SO HARD to get them on the tram with me, it just didn’t make sense to leave them behind like that. :’(
I got the SAW gunner to get on the tram with me. It was the best moment of my life. :3
Then I started the tram and collision system glitched out and he gibbed. :’(
Sandtraps is pretty bad… on my last couple playthroughs, I’ve just been loading up on shotgun shells and running madly through the sand till I find a safe place to stand. It’s a lot more eventful and a lot less tedious… almost turns it into Left 4 Dead
And being in the fucking dark for an hour in Ep1 is the pits. It’s just not fun. There’s nothing good about that.
Zen
XEN dammit! I bet you’ll say Gordan Freeman next.
IDC for Ravenholm but it makes the HL2 demo feel more complete. And that Resin Processing machinery crap was soooo hard in HL1.
In HL2 I hated pretty much hated any part where you had to kill striders while running around finding more RPG ammo. I was fine with Ravenholm, it was just fast headcrab zombies that were annoying and freaky, especially when you run out of ammo.
I was fine with Ep1 and 2, though I didn’t like the mines in the antlion hive thing.
God I hated Highway 17, because of the ever spawning antlions and the crappy handling. The concept of the whole level is pretty damned cool, but the gameplay on that part just wasnt good.
Handling was fine if you could use the handbrake properly.
I hated the part on the jet ski in HL2 when I first played it. Kept getting hit by the bombs dropped by the helicopter and got down to like 5 health points. Managed to beat that part still .
