huh?
*Properly.
bump
Only bump if the thread is completely dead, and you made the thread…and it is in ‘Help and Support’
Oh my.
Anything on Xen, heh
Dude, why would you bump the thread one day after the last post?
Coulda at least written something so you didn’t look like a jackass. Bumps are for jackasses.
Let’s see…
HL: Not much that I can think of. Most annoyances were minor and solved quickly. Haven’t played it in awhile so there might be some things I forgot.
HL2: The turret battle in Nova Prospekt. I often die a lot on that part. The part after Ravenholm with the room full of headcrabs is annoying too. I like Highway 17 overall but I wasn’t too fond of driving the buggy.
HL2 Ep1: The elevator in the Citadel with the debris falling. Died a bunch there until I just decided to spam the fire key with the gravity gun.
HL2 Ep2: Nothing. The battles were challenging but fun, and was thick in plot points for a HL game. The strider battle was hard at first, but once I discovered (with incredible glee) that I could easily dispatch the Hunters by running them over with the car, it was a ton of fun even if I died some.
teh bit wher u kiled alienz
I found the best strategy was to hold the grab trigger and get as close as possible to the debris to catch it. Of course, this often led to me tumbling of the endge of the lift into abyss.
Makes you wonder why the Combine don’t seem to use handrails all that much…
Why does everyone hate Highway 17? Driving in your car near a cliff which you could fall off any moment is AWESOME! Also, that moment when you had too boost trough the bridge to prevent the train from crashing in to you was pretty neat.
Parts of Half-Life I didn’t like? Is that a trick question?
OAR
Yeah that works much better than trying to shoot them away.
I always shot them first cause I thought they were too big. But then I tried grabbing em, it’s much easier.
Half-Life 1 :
-On A Rail. Gave up using the goddman tram after five minutes to go the rest of the way on my f**king feet.
-Gonarch’s Lair. Kept running away from this mofo with constantly low ammo. Had to use cheats after ten times dying.
The rest was just great, IMO.
Half-Life 2 :
-Highway 17. Long+linear=boring. 'Nuff said.
-Sandtraps. Hated how I had to do this platform-jumping for fat Italian plumbers. THIS! IS! HALF-LIFE! kicks Antlion
But like above, I think the rest was just excellent. Maybe the levels “Anti-Citizen One” and “Follow Freeman!” were kinda repetitive, but I think it turned out into a great game overall.
Episode One:
Nothing in particular, my only complaint is that it was SO FRIGGIN’ SHORT.
Episode Two:
Nothing. BEST. FINAL. BATTLE. EVA.
But I really don’t see why some people didn’t like Ravenholm. As far as I’m concerned, I was hardly 14 when I first played HL2, and for some weird reason, I loved that level. I’m 19 now, and this level still scares the shit outta me. Maybe it’s not so scary anymore when you play through it for, like, the 100th time, but still…
And in this room in the mines filled with headcrabs. Did any of you run around shooting the infinite-spawning headcrabs and wasting your ammo before seeing the stairs that go over the fence? First time I played, I was all like “Oh, look, I can jump over that fence! Screw you guys!”
…
I know I’m not the only one. Am I?
So basically you hated the whole series?
The vehicle sections are only boring if you do it using the vehicle. Honestly, I don’t remember the last time I used the buggy for Highway 17.
So what did you do? Sprint across the sand flinging antlions away with the Gravity Gun?
It’s all awesome. I really can’t think of any part I do not like. Well ok in HL2 that part with all those bunkers just before Nova Prospekt is sorta meh.
most of Xen, and all of the Citadel, but the wole rest of the entire series is AMAZING.
