New Mod - Operation λambda

Dev’s are short for developers, so yes, we the devs. The developers of Operation Lambda!

Stupid Comments, I hate them… > :frowning:

I would love to see this mod complete, the concept is very good. It’s a shame that it will probably never happen.

Why do you not think that it will happen?

It might take a while, but I want to do the mod, and I am prepared to divert a great deal of my time and energy to the mod in order to make it work.

Thank you,
Shaktal

Shouldn’t it be “Operation Lλmbda?”

I’d wager that λambda reads as “Aambda” to most people.

It’s been stated on previous pages.

Apparently ‘λ’ is ‘L’ in the Greek alphabet.

Oh no, not again lol! :S.

Because of the comments last time we have just changed it to operation lambda, as this will cause less confusion.

It’s not really a stupid comment, seeming as it is posted ON BLACK MESA SOURCE forums, it kind of sounds like he is referring to the BMS dev’s.

Nothing against you, just I have seen so many like you. Ready to make a mod and motivated as hell, only for the mod to fall silently into oblivion.

Ok, well… I wasn’t.

I see that no.

I do hope hat this mod will not fall into oblivion, at the moment we are currently waiting on our concept artists.

Also we are in need of a head mapper, modeller and coder.

@Shaktal: I think you have a typo in your ‘What is Operation Lambda?’ text:

It says “…we witness the beginning of the beginning of the seven hour war.

I had noticed that on a previous occasion, but I have just upgraded to Windows 7 and have yet to reinstall all of my software. :fffuuu:

This is one of the main reasons for a slow migration.

But hopefully it will be resolved soon.

Thank you.

Like some people are saying, This mod may fall into oblivion.
That’s why I have joined it, I think it’s good enough and doesn’t deserve to fall into oblivion.

It seems like such a worthwhile story, and it sounds pretty cool.
So hopefully in January, you should see the first trailer from me.

Would be interested to help out, but first I’ll wait till I see some more progress.

Keep on going, dont let it die!

We don’t want the mod to die!

But we do need support from the community, and we need some more team members, but providing that we get them within a reasonable amount of time, I see no reason why the mod will die.

Thank you,
Shaktal

Well the main thing that I’m concerned about is the whole idea.
You want to have the game in the Combine world while you know very little about them.
To recreate such a world you need to make up allot of your own things and expect people to like it.
Ofcourse you can create something with the things in HL2, but the combine ingame are mostly modified humans.

Because of this i don’t see much hope in this, and that’s why i’m going to wait out till I see some more progress.
It’s more talk at the moment and less action.

I understand what you are saying, and at the moment it is very much a talking process, and there is very little visible work, but that it merely because we are waiting for the concept artists to finish their work, once they have made some concept, the rest of the team can start to work on the rest of the project.

I understand that you may be anxious about how the combine home world will be done, but we have some ideas, and we would like to hear what the community want included to avoid people being upset or disappointed by the finalised mod, obviously we cannot appease everyone, but the more ideas there are the more inspiration etc. we will get.

Thank you,
Shaktal

With answers like these you can hardly disappoint people.
It’s good to know that you take this seriously and can supply informative answers.

Will keep an eye on your mod.

Combine Homeword + My awesome imagination = Something else. :3
