Are there any high-profile WWI shooters yet?
Needs more Vietnam shooters. BF:V was awesome as fuck.
Yes, be emerged in the realistic WWI battles, spend prolonged amounts of time in the trenches dodging artillery fire, suffer mental breakdowns from all the death and die very quickly, when your no-good general orders to push forward at the wrong time. Have fun.
I remember it being completely awful, actually.
Best BF in the series.
I’d play it, but there wasn’t support for reverse Y-Axis. It made the game unplayable for me, and I absolutely refuse to change that method of play.
Y axis inversion is the first option on the first tab

I say, we need a first person battleship simulator, where you play as a powder monkey, retrieving gunpowder from below deck and dodging gunfire and explosions. Press [SHIFT] to sprint!
Or, play as a cannon operator, and shoot people and wood to pieces!
You can also play as a sharpshooter and shoot Admiral Nelson in the Battle of Trafalgar. Slightly inaccurate flintlock gun at 2 shots per minute!
About that WWI shooter…this
I know I sounded like a completely ignorant moron, but I swear to you, that I checked all the available control and mouse options and couldn’t find it.
Course, I was trying to play it when it first came out, nearly seven years ago. Maybe the version that was on the school’s computers didn’t have the most recent patch that implemented that option, or it was there all along, meaning that I was such a dimwitted highschooler at the time that I totally missed it when it would have been right under my nose.
Now I feel silly.
I thought you were talking about BF3, not a game from that long ago >_>
I don’t like Origin, I don’t like how they run the servers through a browser, or that they run their whole game through the browser. The initial launch bugs and lock ups were annoying, I could see BF3 being a good game but all of that just turned me off.
It doesn’t run in a browser and you can run singleplayer without using Battlelog. So you’re going to be online anyway but I can see if you had a lack of system resources. I like Battlelog much more than Origin to be honest.
I hate when I see people exaggerate the number of steps to start the game. All you have to do is go to Battlelog and choose a server and it’ll start Origin automatically. It’s just something different and if enough people speak out about it I’m sure it’ll never be used again.
From what I have seen, call of duty has better single player, but battlefield has superior multiplayer especially considering the vehicles.
I don’t know, I really liked BF3’s singleplayer despite all the flaws. Haven’t played a CoD singleplayer since the original MW, though, so I don’t know.
Something that really dissapointed me was Battlefields 3 singleplayer. I mean, really? About 5 hours of singleplayer with barely any memorable moments? Modern Warfare 2 singleplayer was better, even in the goddamn favelas (otherwise known as the “jesus fucking shit i hate brazil” section of the game). At least it had the decency to entertain on its first playthrough, unlike BF3. Dima’s missions were a blast though.
But BF3’s multiplayer? Oh man, I never had so much fun in multiplayer, I swear. The only experience like it was WarRock, and even that wasn’t as rewarding. It’s frantic but not so much that it becomes overwhelming, and being able to support your team through supression, healing, reparing and resupplying means that even if you don’t level a certain class, you’ll still be able to help your team with it in a time of need.
Also, to make the obligatory “MW vs. BF” comparison, think of Modern Warfare as Supermoves meanwhile Battlefield is more like Aces High.
OH LAWD YES I LOVE WATCHING GERMANS WATCHING ME ALL THE TIME
TRENCHFOOT ALSO
See, I don’t get people’s frustration with BF3’s singleplayer. Why the hell would you buy Battlefield for the campaign?
I don’t see your point. I did not buy BF3 for the campaign, but I played it anyway and was disappointed. The fact that I didn’t buy the game for the sole purpose of the campaign doesn’t mean it sucked any less.
I don’t see the point of buying BF3 for the campaign, but hell, i don’t even see the point of buying MW for the campaign either. It might be better and have more thrills, but at the end of the day its just one long cutscene where you can shoot people. Linearity is fine when done right, but MW is so literally a straight line that you can’t even deviate past what your brain naturally expects to. They could at least make the effort to have some logical linear boundaries. And their AI coders don’t even seem to code other actions then “shoot” and “move to mapper-defined location or play a scripted event”. Sure, that’s all they need to do, but still.
For some reason, I retarded out and didn’t type what I meant. People are rating Battlefield 3 as a game down because the single player was bad, in their opinion.
I, myself, enjoyed it.
