I’ve played it a few times when it was a brand new mod and, honestly, meh. I don’t think the source engine is really apt for the realistic gameplay style, the movement feels too clunky and heavy. I don’t know, it just doesn’t work very well.
I play it from time to time when I’m bored. There’s a few populated servers.
somehow it seems that it have a bigger playerbase than PVKII, which I find a shame, PVKII is so much better than Insurgency. It’s pretty much as Maxey said
Better off with Project Reality or ArmA if you want this style of game.
I find the concept of a PR mod for ArmA 2 a bit funny. An overly realistic mod for an already overly realistic game.
ArmA doesn’t really have “maps” in the normal sense of the word though I don’t think. Doesn’t ArmA 2 have like 2 islands that are both over 100 kms large?
Both games are big shit. Trash. Crap. Waste.
End of discussion.
It’s a whole country in ArmaII now.
Lol who are you.
You don’t need to care about who i am.
All you got to know is, that i know, that both games are shit.
Glad to know I won’t have to see you in BF3 .
But hey, Arkham Asylum is a good game !
So your taste isn’t lost at all.
Your carefully explained opinion is very relevant to me. I’m going to act in accordance to it now.
cancels BF3 pre-order
I’ve never been happier now.
A bit out of topic:
Someone earlier posted about CoD being a frag fest. Yeah, I want to add that it’s a BAD frag fest. I’m that kind of guy that plays “frag fest” games with small maps like HL M and Quake Live and I guess I have enough experience to say that CoD completely fails as a good game in that area. It’s just not that good. I think people prefer it only because it’s war-themed and has modern graphics. It’s not even better than Counter-Strike, which I don’t really favor. Basically, I have played CoD 1 and 2 and the rest I just watched gameplay of. I once tried MW2 at a friend’s house and it was ridiculous.
Simple. BF3 and MW3 both blow. The genre needs either new blood or real commitment from the existing titles to return to the core fundamentals of what made COD, BF, MOH, and all so great.
If you not gonna upgrade the gfx, then get a really compelling story-line or clever combat puzzles to solve. Give players more choices than just “Charge straight at the MG Nest and trust your reflexes.” Let the stealthy player have the option to sneak through the woods on the left or let skilled-marksmen actually be able to kill an MG gunner without an enemy automatically respawning in 3 seconds and making the tough shot pointless.
Make it truly modder-friendly. Let players fix what they do not like about the vanilla and spread the wealth around! DLC multiplayer-maps are not an adequate substitute.
If you gonna add new features to a game, make sure they give players more flexibility! Don’t always force us to use the same boring guns over and over again on a map. Maybe a player wants to use an M14 and colt .45 combo instead of an M4 and M9? Give players a way to do that!
Not that related, but this guy is just… funny.

Look at his reviews, look at the games he reviewed positively, and the publishers of those games.
Gamers are the bitchiest bunch of whiners of any group of people I know.
With that line of rationale, Call of Duty should then incorporate vehicles.
C’mon now, we need our generic online modern war games to at least be different from each other.
Agreed. Though at least there isn’t a lack of this type of sub-genre. I kinda miss the WWII shooters. Medal of Honor should go back to that so they can differentiate themselves from the rest of the military shooters.
WWII shooters have had their day, and then went ahead and took a couple more days after that.
