I mean, I know how you feel, but it’s hard and near impossible to perfecly combine a beautiful sexy campaign with wide “tubes” and still be able to entertain the masses to give it a movie feel, especially with the kind of topic at hand where their dealing with multiple nukes. ArmA 3 looks very sexy and promising, the campaign looks to be cool and all, but it won’t have the theatrical appearance and feel that BF3 does because it’s 100%(pretty much) open world RPG style (your some sort of covert ops guy behind enemy lines). Now in 2143 I could see how they could make it very open, heck even letting you chose your own missions is possible, because of how open the story is.
I don’t see that happening anytime soon, though there should be more shooters with a more non-linear approach, much like what Borderlands employed.
Prefer Crysis style a lot more. Borderland’s world was just busywork to get from point A to point B. Crysis gave you an open area to flank and out maneuver enemies.
its virtually impossible to get a shooter that isn’t lineal without an rpg undertone. im just rying to think of something that has done it properly without those sneaky role playing tactics.
guess it just boils down to it cant actually happen. the best you will see is like crysis or mirrors edge. though not really a shooter. there was always a faster path to find. if you no what i mean.
not mutually exclusive.

That picture describes every jeep driver, and half the helicopter pilots in BF3.
sadly yes.
Ironically, whenever I get in the driver/ pilot’s seat, I can sit there for like 5 minutes and no one hops on.
Yeah, I’ll get in a jeep and wait like 5-10 seconds and if nobody gets in I’m going to go. I’m not going to wait 15 minutes in the spawn for people to get into my jeep.
One of the few times I played BF2, there was a guy sitting on the pad in a helicopter, so I got in, he took off, and then bailed out over a building so he could snipe. I didn’t realize this until it was too late for me to switch seats and save it.
People do that all the time in BF3. I was playing Wake Island and he did it over the ocean like 6 miles away from land/aircraft carrier so it took ages to swim back.
if that was me. then to spite you. i would get in a jet. and crash into you wile you were still splashing in the water.
i wouldnt really. but ive copped that one before also.
the worst i had. Caspian border. no vehicles at spawn. walk down the road. there’s our tank. full HP. no one in it. sitting in the river bed. i wasn’t impressed.
Same here. Though if someone looks like they need a ride, I’ll stop and honk.
Wait, wasn’t FarCry a completely open environment with very little, if any, RPG elements? I know Breed tried something like that. It failed miserably with incredibly sparse environments.
COD really needs to make a new engine. The Cod 4 engine just doesn’t look good anymore. Bf3 did a new engine which looks amazing. I’d rather pay 60$ for Bf3 than Cock of Duty Modern Warfail 3.
CoD just needs to not be around anymore. That’d solve more problems than an engine change ever would.
CoD needs a 2-3 year break so they can make it for the upcoming next gen consoles with a brand new engine, story and mechanics.
I would laugh if they make a CoD game for the next gen consoles with the exact same engine they’re using now.
I wouldn’t be surprised in the least.
“Call of Duty: Modern Ops 4 for the PS4 now in true 720p.”
Well from my experience nobody pays attention to the resolution anyway so nobody would probably say anything. At least the people that would buy it.
The next generation of consoles better have true 1080p rendering as a requirement for all games or else I’ll kill random people on the streets.
In Portugal, the streets run out pretty quickly. So take it easy, save some.
