Microsoft's arrogance

I thought… I thought you like Macs.

This relationship is over.

Haha.
The irony of your last two posts is priceless.

I’m not a troll, if that’s what you had meant.

Whatever.
Maxey, as you are the only one I care to have a discussion with in this thread, I’m waiting for your post. But for now I’m off to sleep.

Alright, so I re-read some of your posts and from what I gathered, you do know for a fact that in terms of hardware and features, the PC is always one step ahead of consoles. The games can have better graphics. The online features are far more advanced and customizable. It supports extensive game modding. It supports a lot of different game controllers. It can be plugged to a big TV. You can find a lot of apps to keep tracks of your friends and join their games. The only disadvantage it has in relation to consoles is that it requires a bit of time to install and set-up the game for the first time, but once that’s out of the way, it starts games as easily as any console.

Now, disregarding any personal opinion about the games, what more arguments do you have to support your opinion that consoles are better for gaming than PCs?

this is ridiculous Microsoft gave pc users a giant middle finger and they get so many people cause they just buy slow expensive crap computers which gives a bad name for them cause they can’t go get a ubercharged used computer. and they just make failsauce ports look at gta4 my dad bought it, was all excited to play booted it up and started a mission you can only see 10 feet in front so your running into walls and it just sucks I was able to get it running on my computer and it still is glitchy everytime you get in a gun fight the screen goes black and you die its just a real bad experience I really wanted a red dead redemption port for pc then I got gta4 D:

A few more sentences and I would’ve asphyxiated.

Have you never heard of something called comma?

It was annoying seeing conversations with half of them missing so I removed you from the ignore list. And you’re really the only one to argue with right now.

Anyway, you have not-so-cleverly sidestepped a large flaw in your fanboy mentality; you clearly care about mods as you are on this site, yet consoles have no mods. Or at least not enough to care about.

I don’t think he does, he just saw me bashing them and couldn’t help but to arrogantly outburst against me.

Oops, sorry for double post.

I’ve briefly came back to answer you.

Well, consoles are, as you’ve pointed out, much more straightforward, dedicated, and, they deliver more fun in regards of multiplayer. By multiplayer, I mean multiple controllers in the same room. So yeah, party hard. Cannot do it on pc.
And because of the wireless controllers nowadays, it’s much more comfy to turn your PS3 on rather then sit on the chair in front of the monitor. Of course, you can improve ergonomics or connect a PC to TV/wireless controller, but it’s more money/hassle.

All in all, I’d rather have a dedicated platform for gaming/entertainment and other stuff I’ll do on my desktop/laptop.

I’m not sure what do you mean by online features, but judging from what I’ve played so far, online on consoles for a particular game is pretty much the same in regard to their PC counterparts, if any. UT 3 being an example.
And while there is no full-conversion modding for consoles (yet), for the same UT3 for example, I used some HQ modded content. So it is something already. With time, I can see much more.

EDIT: And Garth, you’re still a jealous cockmongler and a sore loser.
And your posts are full of shit regardless.

lolol
[COLOR=‘Black’]I’ll post my analysis in a bit.

Looks like we have very different opinions about what ‘fun’ is.

He was most likely referring to dedi servers. They are infinitely better than the host system found on most console games; many more people can be in one map, server modifications are much easier, admins can ban hackers and assholes, you do not have to migrate hosts when the host leaves and they generally have much less lag. UT3 is really the only console game I can think of using the dedicated server system. How can you possibly make a fair comparison of the two systems when you only have one game to base your opinion on?

What on Earth is there to be jealous of?

Fair enough but you can’t deny that from a gamer’s standpoint, the PC offers much more than a console. Just the fact that you can create your own games on PC is the definitive reason for that.

Well I see that the main friction between us is multiplayer.

So yeah, while not having a dedicated server may be a disadvantage, the ability to have a 4 controller fest is everything for me.
And I was actually fine on hosted ones in UT3 back in my location, but let’s rule out personal experiences.

If you are talking about IP multiplayer, than maybe, due to dedicated server, yes. If you are talking about overall package, then hell no. Nothing compares with 4 player coop.

Also, I made my point about hardware in another thread. I really enjoy how devs can come up with such huge improvents on the same damn platform. When I thought MGS2 was PS2’s pinnacle, MGS3 came out. Same with Halo3 and Reach.

IMHO: squeezing every possible bit out of provided hardware > adding more and more power.
You also start to appreciate the whole technology behind consoles - it’s just an endless pit of hidden scopes in the system. Dedication and optimization is the key, while with PC, you often find out that motherboard x does not like GPU y, RAM x does not like CPU y etc, therefore the endless hardware arms race to compensate for that. Not really efficient if you ask me.

Ok, you’re refusing to see the forest for the trees.

Please expand.

EDIT: Okay, now I’ve really got no time to sleep. Have an early meeting in the morning, 10 am. Now it’s 4 am. We can continue later.

This is not true, unless a 13 year old with no knowledge of computers is building your rig.

Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about.

You’re circling around the bush, reusing your old arguments because you won’t admit I’m right. Don’t use your personal opinion to avoid answering my question. Do you deny the fact that the PC offers a far more vast array of options for gamers than consoles or not?

Quite the heated debate. Allow me to offer an idea i’ve just come up with:
Although this kinectfag has really hit a soft spot for us all, It seems like he’s almost hitting us in a place where we’ve always been hit. Recently, console’s have been getting most the fame, and we can’t deny it…
But really… think about it…This is why we’re called PC elitist’s. There aren’t many of us (well, compared to the ignorant masses who play consoles).
Generally, when you think of ‘elitist’s’ you think of a ‘select few’, or the ‘chosen ones’. The fact that the PC community is shrinking, has always been in out faces, we just could never accept it.
Now don’t get me wrong, im not bashing console fags, or PC fags. I’m just telling you what I have actually only recently noticed, after looking through this depressing thread. I’m really just trying to tel you guys an ‘idea’ i’ve only recently sprouted.

Nonetheless, I am, and will always happily be, a PCfag. I still like my consoles, but PC jsut runs through me d:
