Still amazes me that SC is still supported… How old is it now anyways? I was most amused when I found an official patch to run it on OSX.
From 1998 if I’m not mistaken. WC3 is pretty old by now as well, though, from 2002/2003.
I’ve been here for a long time. A long, long fucking time. Most of the newbies here don’t really realize the intense degree of work that goes into this mod let alone the setbacks they faced before and after the site change. With that degree of effort, this mod WILL in one way or another be released, it’s only a question of when. I honestly think that some of you need your patience glands checked. It’s not exactly too intelligent to rag on the devs for TAKING THEIR TIME ON A MOD WE ARE GETTING FOR FREE.
And on the above comment that the mod needs the fans - no, it really doesn’t. It is being made for the sake of being made, the fans are an aftereffect of the mod’s creation. Don’t think that any of you can make demands of the developers in any way whatsoever.
thank Jesus, Atomic Waffles is here to inform us all that we are mandated by Decree of all that is Good and Holy to wait patiently for Black Mesa to come out. I’m really seeing this whole thing (by this I mean my newly spiritual worldview) in a new light, now.
Joining the off-topic train for a minute… I think Starcraft was easily the best RTS ever made. Period. But IMHO, Blizzard hasn’t made a decent game since. The SCII Beta was a disappointment for me 
As for this thread’s topic… I’m not even about to get my hopes up that Black Mesa is anywhere near release. Not again. I’m mentally prepared for a 4th quarter 2011 release.

Personally I’d put AoE II as the finest RTS ever made, with RA(2) and SC coming in very close behind.
And that’s a fine philosophy… Might I tempt you with a Q4 2010 release?

till EA fucked up the Tiberium Saga in CnC4, RA3 is good but the cartoonish Japanesse Robots is outrageous

Nope, sorry, you’re wrong. It’s still pretty standard, though unique enough and hits a bit of a sweet spot, but Total Annihilation really stands out from the crowd on its own, and has only been properly succeeded by Supreme Commander 1.
I dunno, maybe you also think that Halo is the best shooter of all time, and have never heard of this thing called “space flight sims”.
SC is still one of the highest selling games in both the US and Korea… if you wanna be big in Korea, master SC and head on over to get your fan club, srsly they have tv shows devoted to that, i dont see it for other RTS series… just sayin
I would like to play black mesa, after reading the way crazy old twitter account though im a bit worried, in the tubes we got SC2, Halo:Reach, Portal 2, HL2 EP3, Doom 4 (MAYBE well see in Aug) F.E.A.R. 3, Mass Effect 3, Fallout New Vegas, the year of 2010 is a BIG swing for gaming and its gonna be an intense storm to warrent any kind of attention if they release too late…
however that being said im pretty sure the ARG is running i just cant find out what part its at…

C&C is one of the best RTS franchises, with the exception of most of the EA-developed releases of the past years.
