Loss of Interest in BM?

It is now July and I have noticed that there are a lot less threads or discussions on the website lately. I’ve noticed that no one I know really talks about Black Mesa anymore. It seems that a lot of people are losing interest in BM because of the delay, no release date, less news and threads, and no updates to speak of. I think that if the devs gave us at least a written update saying the mod would be out in 2010, then more people would support it. Which, I can’t see the mod coming out any later than 2010 because the engine would be too dated compared to other games like Portal 2 and HL2: Episode 3. It’s kind of weird going on a website that was once visited and supported by lots of people, that now seems deserted. I know the devs say they don’t care about this, but the mod is losing less and less potential everyday.

I’m just sharing my concern about people losing interest in the mod. I just want to state my opinion and create a thread. I don’t want this to be a hate thread, just a place of discussion.

We don’t discuss Black Mesa because we have discussed every thing there is to discuss about Black Mesa.

People aret losing interest really, just patiently (some less so) waiting and spamming.

After missing the release date, a lot of people think the mod is dead; have you ever looked at the comments on Youtube?

I should tell them off, but it’ll be much more fun to see their reactions when the mod actually is released. :retard:

It has been a long time, indeed. But only patient kids get the cake!

You be stealin’ mai quotes.

Also here’s some fresh newly uploaded in-action screenshots to maintain patience. If you’ve not yet seen them.

Yep, nothing to say about black mesa until it’s released.

I remember one of the devs saying we’ll know when its on its way, there’s gonna be a build up to release

If thats the case, expect interest to return pretty damn quick :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow! The MP5 looks beautiful from the player perspective! I loved it :3 I loved the zombies and vortingaunts as well. I can barely wait to play it and kill those HECU bastards.

(Is it just my impression or the MP5 looks better than in CoD4?)

Yes.

Doesnt worry me tbh, cause ill stick check every day, then when its out ill play it.

I got patience
I recently beat Doom 3 and Far Cry 1.

If there was really a loss of interest in the mod, this forum would be a ghost town. Instead, this is one of the busiest forums I’ve ever seen.

I was in line for concert tickets one time. The window hadn’t opened yet and people were waiting patiently. No one was talking about the band they were in line for. That doesn’t mean they aren’t interested in the band they’re waiting for (they’d go do something else, right?).

I think its coming out really soon, I can feel it…coming in the air tonight.

You guys, he’s right, people definitely are losing interest. Now when the mod comes out, nobody will play it, and they definitely won’t come flooding out of the woodwork and download it en masse.

hell, i dont care.

the longer it takes, the better it will be.

Nobody? Well… I know one person who will play it, despite its computer not meeting the reqs.

Maybe it’s better that way. We might crash the server(s) if we all start downloading at once.

Great Scott! my sarcasm detector is going off the charts!

Damn dude you ok? that almost hit your head as it flew over^_^

I totally lost interest in the mod after the delay announcement. Since then, each time I think about BM, I’m disgusted. We’re in May now and I seriously wonder if the mod is ever going to be released. I am fully aware that a mod takes a lot of time to make blah blah blah, but I think that we have waited enough by now. Waiting isn’t a problem for me, but waiting for nothing is. I think that the devs could AT LEAST give an approximate release date (and when I say approximate I mean really approximate).
