Hmmmm… once I end up playing the game to death I might start on that capaign I have been thinking of, even though there’s a 50% chance I might half-finish it and give up.
That setting has to be forced. There are actually 2 or 3 options in the CCC that do not have a “use application settings” box, that happens to be one of them. Because of that, I never really noticed it was set to low and it never dawned on me that a single setting would so greatly reduce the game quality like that.
And I know it’s somewhat difficult with bots, I’m just saying it’s near impossible while carrying the gnome too since they do 90% of the work.
Also how would you guys like a mediocre campaign where:
Level 1: is similar to level 1 is set in the woods like Blood Harvest.
Level 2: you fight your way to a mansion that is still falling apart.
Level 3: You go through (and maybe under) a prison (prison is probably a running gauntlet) and find your way to a train station that acts as a rescue vehicle.
Level 4: Train breaks down (insert trollface.jpg here) by an old military base beside a lake with a still-working sea-plane, scavenge finale.
Probably not going to work since I need a voice actor and I am below average at texturing.
It’s freaking hard even with a good team, Expert difficulty is nuts.
Does anyone know if L4D2 requires/mounts L4D1 content (in vpaks)? I seem to remember hearing that all L4D campaigns would be compatible with L4D2; but that could be problematic if it’s not calling all of the content from the original game.
I love this game. I was originally going to wait until it was on sale for like thirty or something, and then while replaying the demo I got my hands on the machete.
Needless to say, I jizzed and then purchased the game on tuesday.
Anyway, I love it. I love the atmosphere, I love the levels, I love that fucking hurricane. I wish the characters were more fun like the last game, but I like Ellis’s rambling, Nick’s sexiness, how gentle Rochelle is and Coach’s obsession with food. It’s not as ~iconic as the characters from the last game, but it’s cute nonetheless.
I hate the bots. I feel like they had a major downgrade. I haven’t played with humans yet, I do not think I am good enough right now. The finale to Dead Center with only one person that can carry/throw gas cans? Brutal. And for some reason the fucking bots wont pick up first aid kits. It pisses me off.
I love the bladed weapons the best, probably the machete by default. The atmosphere and how everything, even the non-diagetic score contributes to it is absolutely gorgeous. The special-normal infected make it interesting, and the new special infected are ridiculous when combined with one another.
Bots hate spitter goo, so if you’re trapped on the other side of the goo by another infected, game over. Sucks. I hate the bots. Oh well, yay machete.
tl;dr: worth the money.
Love it.
Just did “The Parish” for the first time…

Running across that bridge in 3 minutes with bots is just plain nerve-racking. I got to the second adrenaline with a hunter behind the truck. In about half a second I had to dodge the hunter, grab the adrenaline, and bolt for it. Somehow managed to outrun the hunger, jump the tank, and force my way into the chopper. Somehow the bots had made it halfway without taking a point of damage… but I just kicked them in the console and it gave me the achievements.
You kicked the NPCs in the console?
Ya, if you type in “kick ellis/nick/rochelle/coach” it removes whichever bot you specified.
Heh, how come the midnight rider’s music is better than most real bands even though they are fictional.
Most real bands are shit.
I’m actually contemplating buying this game after the Holidays, awesome gaming rig or no.
Better than most real bands? You do realise there’s about 23242093423 real bands right?
You goose.
That means they only have to be better than 11621046711.5 bands to be better than most. And if you assume Acristoff only likes that single genre of music, and automatically make every genre of music he doesn’t like have crappy bands, then I’m sure it very easily defeats almost 85% of the bands out there.
I have no idea why I felt compelled to argue that, guess I’m just really bored.
Personally, I love Nick - I think he’s the best character over both games. I do prefer the development the characters get over the course of the campaigns (introducing themselves in the elevator at the beginning of Dead Centre, calling the Special Infected different names before settling on their 'actual names, for example).
Yeah, I really liked that as well. Although the intro cinematic happens before the first campaign so you’d think that’d all be over like the first l4d, but oh well.
Er, say what? It’s not an intro cinematic. You can see the coaster and the bridge, for example, in the “intro” which you do in the actual game. And you can see the mud men. And a bunch of other stuff.
More like a “game summary” cinematic.
Holy fucking shit, i want show my friend how to buy game in steam, but then i forgot to remove saved information on credit card and i buy left 4 dead 2 in accident for RM168.80.
'the fuck are “RM”?
I’d assume so. They both use the same engine so it wouldn’t be hard to transfer the content anyway. (Note: What I just said could be totally wrong but it sounds right)
