So what do you all think? i thought the first one was good, but theres something about it, the graphics look poor, game play felt cheap, and the thing is, its built on the source engine? so why not the type of feel as half life 2? i know properties can be changed but, i just want your views on it.
I looks very similar to the first one. I probably should be an expansion pack, but that aside, it looks no worse, although the brighter lighting may illuminate flaws that could not be seen in the first one.
yeah alot of people have been criticizing that point, although most game sites are saying ignore it, they think its a damn fine job. :retard: but ill wait till the price drops me thinks.
I’m waiting for that 75% off weekend or 50% at the very least. I paid 50$ for that muth fucka and now Valve knows I want L4D2 cuz I got 1 and they make me pay 50$ more!
I thought the graphics looked fine. Not only that, but I actually thought the gameplay felt stronger than Half-Life 2. Shooting up combines always felt… empty to me. The weapons in L4D have a much better feel to them and any rag dolling effects don’t look as fake or as weak.
Anyway, on topic. I’ll probably buy it just because I like L4D so much, and I won’t be able to deal with not having the sequel. I do agree it should have been an expansion, though. Could have been released a little cheaper and there wouldn’t have been this ridiculous boycott.
My only fear for it is the fact that it IS a sequel. Attempting to fix what was “wrong” with the first game, or trying to add newer and better content, may only end up ruining the game instead of making it more interesting.
I think it’s a game good enough to be standalone instead of an expansion pack. I also personally think you’ll be able to play with left 4 dead 2 content online on versus in left 4 dead. you know like they’re doin’ with the pre-order baseball bat:if you’re playin’with someone who has the baseball bat then it’ll be available to you too. Only this one is more like this:If you’ add someone on steam who has left 4 dead 2 you’ll be able to play left 4 dead 2 content in campaign, versus and the new gamemode and he’ll be able to play left 4 dead content via the same ways. I other words:you won’t have to buy left 4 dead 2 to play with left 4 dead 2 content.
It’s too much new stuff to be an expansion, L4D was a like a test game; a first attempt at it, now they’ve gotten a hell of a load better and releasing L4D2, As long as it gets unbanned in Australia i’m happy to buy it.
haha well i gotta fix my 360 first, ive been running l4d on that, and i got that 1 ring E74 error, but i know how to fix its all cool. in time for l4d2 hopefully :retard:
I was doubtful when it was first announced (where the fuck is Episode 3?!), but then I watched one of the gameplay videos, and I was awestruck. I saw the biggest innovation in gaming since the joystick: AMMO THAT SETS ZOMBIES ON FIRE!!!
PC gaming is dying and Valve knows it. All the SDKs and mod support is just delaying the inevitable.
I blame piracy.
Mmm, I don’t know. If they do a sale/another 4pack thing, maybe. I don’t have the first one, but I’m considering getting the 4 pack and letting my friends pay me back. Don’t really want to if L4D2 makes the original obsolete, though…
i switched to console, for ease. man i couldnt be bothered with upgrading my comp/buying a new one. just bought an xbox 360 as a dvd player and gaming. easy i use to be in with pc’s with the release i stayed true to half life one on windows 98, but you know. times change, people change, plus i couldnt be bothered with errors, and dont have the time.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
