Left 4 Dead 2

Did he pre-order? I heard it unlocks in the UK on 20th on steam for post-release purchasers… Even though it makes no sense.

Edit: yes, if you didn’t pre-order you have to wait for the 20th in the UK because there was a shipping delay for the UK.

I literally jizzed when I saw the fire part in dead center level 1. And hard rain kicked ass too.

I tried that already. It took about an hour to redownload, told me all the files were broken, and then proceeded to do it once again to get me right back where I started. I guess I can try again though.

Oh, and ends up that update did fix it, for whatever reason it just wasn’t evident during the first 2 or 3 rounds.

Man I love me some midnight riders.

(web-page is licensed by VALVe, possible new DLC?)

Don’t know if this has been mentioned already, but the bridge finale is insanely hard, I haven’t tried the others yet but I’m guessing they’re just as bad.

You know what’s insane? The end of the 4th Dark Carnival section. To put this in perspective: on the Demo, I’d play on Expert with a friend and 2 PUGs and rarely have issues. It took my friend and 2 PUGs I think 5 or 6 tries on advanced to beat that, and 1 person survived in the red limping into the safe house. I cannot even imagine doing that on Expert right now.

God damn this game is fun, just did Hard Rain and Parish on Advanced, damn the finales are fucking epic. That bridge run is so frantic and crazy!

It is easy!

Run until you meet a tank (don’t worry about the rest of the team), use adrenaline, by the time that one runs out there should be another one soon after, use that immediately and you are almost there.

Assuming you didn’t play it on expert, because expert is always too hard.

How about Expert with Realism? =P

Yep, IIRC I read someone went digging around in the demo files and found that one of the DLCs was named midnight.

I don’t know what that DLC’ll be but I take 2 guesses:
1). 4 midnight riders based zombies that’ll appear on the stage at the finale
2). Like the article guessed: A campaign as the midnight riders.

This game is awesome. The fireaxe is best, no matter you saying. I’ve been trying to get my controller working as the second player in splitscreen but no luck yet…

Agreed, although I still haven’t be able to crown that witch…

I’m definitely not a bad gamer, and I’ve palyed the bridge run several times without beating it with and without human buddies. This time I guess I’ll try get to everybody to run psychoticaly across.

Other than that and a few ai annoyances, this game was well worth my 45 bucks and if you supported the boycott then GTFO.

I’m going to take this further and go out on a limb…

A DLC with at least one campaign where you play as the midnight riders which takes place either before or parallel to the Dark Carnival campaign. Including new melee weapons for each character (new electric guitar, microphone stand, bass guitar, part of a drum kit?). New uncommon common infected of course as I expect all the DLC campaigns will have.

Geez. A complete reinstall still leaves me with textures that look like garbage and 2 broken files.

Make sure your Mimpmap Detail Level setting in the CCC 3D settings tab is set to high quality.

Thank you! I wish I had known it was that simple a few days ago before I had to deal with reinstalling it 800 times. I still think those 2 files are broken, but since the game seems to be working I guess I’ll let them do as they please.

Anyway, the game is amazing. Dead Center is probably the weakest of the campaigns, being short and having the least “creative” location, but it definitely makes up for it with the burning hotel and escape vehicle.

My favorite might be Hard Rain, though. The rain effects were just well done and blast to fight through, and nothing is more enjoyable than chainsawing your way through a crap load of witches.

Also, saving the gnome in Dark Carnival is freakin hard with bots. Charging my way through the never-ending horde in map 4 took 2 tries and I barely made it through with 40 HP and no surviving bots. The finally was just chaotic though. The second tank runs up, and suddenly I find myself covered in boomer bile running in circles and throwing mollys and pipe bombs everywhere. Once the tank was dead I took some adrenaline, grabbed my gnome, and made a mad dash across the amphitheater to jump into the copter. Easily one of the most epic video game moments I’ve ever gone through.

I’m sad to say that Ellis, Coach, and Rochelle had to give up their lives in a valiant effort to save the gnome. :’(

The game in general is freaking hard with bots.

Also, didn’t I say not to force any settings in CCC like a page ago?
