Left 4 Dead 2

Only one out of the five campaigns are in daylight. Second, there is a lot more freedom to had then the first game with AI Director 2.0 and how can you possible make that assumption after playing only half of 1st campaign. Third, it has double the content of first game, i.e. more guns, more zombies, more gamemodes, more campaigns…, and it still has all of the components that made the first one great, I mean if you liked the first one how can you not like this one.

@Jambo: You forgot about realism mode

You mean you commited to yourself that you weren’t going to like a game you hadn’t even played?

Well I don’t really care that you will be missing out.

I just finished the demo, it’s just as amazing if not more so than the original. But I don’t think they are very comparable games. Obviously they are very similar on the surface, but L4D2 has a different feel from the HUD aprearence to the many weapons to the mutilation of zombies (best gore I have ever seen). part of L4D’s brilliance was in its simplicity, L4D2 has the making of a more complex game. What I’m trying to and failing to say is, they are both spectacular games, but in different ways so one will never eclipse the other.

My 45 bucks were well spent and definitely worth the few hours of work I had to do for my dad, can’t wait to play the full game. Also, epic baseball commercial Valve.

:\ My Steam won’t run the demo… it says I need to update the client first. It’s been “checking for updates” for about five minutes now; somehow, I don’t think it’s going to find anything.

Update your steam client

Wow, I haven’t heard someone this wrong in quite a while. I played the demo, and while I did enjoy it, It just felt like an extra coat of paint. Some newer splatter effects, some brighter lights, two new enemies and a bunch of easily interchangeable toys, with as many good as bad. Kill things, run to the exit, repeat. And I didn’t even notice there was a different hud. No wonder companies get away with rehashing the same damn sports games year after year when that’s all it takes to make you think they’re so different.

I might get it if it drops somewhere around $10. At that price it might as well have been DLC.

It happened to me. Restart Steam, and the client should try to update properly. Then you can enjoy the demo.

I’ve played the demo. I enjoyed it, and the tension hasn’t been lost due to the bright open areas. In fact, the open areas make me nervous due to the new Special Infected. ( F**king Chargers and Jockeys) The new weapons are well balanced, and the new items like Adrenaline or Defibrilators have their uses. The difficulty curve between Advanced and Expert is quite steep, which makes Expert a fun challenge.

But I still probably wouldn’t pay $50 for it. Maybe $35.

It’s 3 new infected and some that have a change in their behaviour

The same thing you did in the first one. It can’t be that different otherwise it isn’t L4D2 anymore but some other game. I mean: You can’t expect Valve to make it that you kill zombie dinosaurs on the planet Xando or something along those lines

So? The HUD isn’t the most important thing and Valve didn’t want to change it that much otherwise you have to get used to it.

I’m not saying you have to buy it, but I just want to say: Left 4 Dead 2 is a game you can’t change much because then it wouldn’t be L4D anymore.

Why is there so much debate over a game that the full version of which has not even been released? I recognize that the Demo showed much of the new content, but we have yet to see the full package and as such cannot make a true decision of how good the game is.

@Dias: Your L4D2 Boycott sig is outdated

I just got it last weekend…

New L4D2 TV spot. woo!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/5489/

It’s way more linear, and the path you have to take is random in some places. Lots of new guns, LOTS more variety in zombies, a bunch more special infected, better detail, gibbing/gore better than Fallout 3’s crazy gore, and while I didn’t notice the HUD either, there’s actually almost a story. Definitely more so than L4D1. I like it a lot.

boycott just a lot of idiot on another time.

That’s… whatever it is you’re trying to say for you.

Played the demo finally today.
:awesome:

Downloading demo from yesterday morning to now, wtf?! My internet connection goes very very very slow this week.

Butthurt.

Sounds like you’ve got WOW (wide open west)
they say you can “wow a cow” but they don’t ever say how bad they suck.

Left 4 Dead 2 looks like it’s gonna be awesome I’m glad. :jizz:

Wait, That can’t be…

IT IS!

It’s not a matter of right or wrong, it’s simply conflicting opinions. I found the new weapons infected etc. to cause a very fresh gameplay, you don’t; you’re not wrong I’m not wrong. Besides, I’m sure we’ll see even more new weapons with the full game.

:jizz:
