Here’s my opinion on the demo (curtesy of someone on the steam forums):
This pretty much sums everything up. But i know that i turned myself against this game a long time ago, so i was never going to like it anyway :3
You do realise that a lot of the levels will be at night time, it’s just the demo ones were in the day, right?
And the L4D levels were as linear as the L4D2 demo levels. There were some more open areas in L4D but you always ended up going down the same tight corridors or streets. Plus there were only 2 levels in the demo. There’s going to be something like 25 in the full game, plus the new Scavenger mode and versus as the new infected will be great!
The bright environments don’t decrease the suspense for me simply because you can see just as far as you can at night, and you don’t need to see the subtle details of a zombie horde to know its there. The zombies pouring in from rooftops and doors during hordes remains an exciting and epic moment of gameplay. The levels are a bit more linear, but in the original, but I still like this game more than the original. So far, at least.
