shut up faggot :3

I’m guessing you haven’t played it over lan or coordinated over voice chat with friends. It’s much more of a ‘party’ game then TF2 or CSS. They are solid multiplayer games that have a lot of replayability. If you get some buddies to come by, or get a mic and play with some people you met online, it’s a way better experience then just sitting around with a bunch of randoms shooting zombies in silence.
I find L4D2 a fairly fun game, but like you said, repetitive at times. Once you kill a witch, you’ve killed 'em all. if you want to enjoy this game more, try out the different game modes like survival, scavenger, or versus. The campaigns are kinda boring, but they do throw a lot of diversity at you that I’m guessing you haven’t tried yet.
What exactly is your definition of replayability then? All games either come back to gameplay that is exactly the same (like Half Life), or games that have gameplay that varies very slightly, such as multiplayer games (baring the inclusion of new maps) and every other single-player game. By your logic, no game should ever be played more than one, since no game possesses any minute trace of any quality worth repeating once you’ve experienced it once.
I like to think of video games like sex. When you play one for the first time, you’re inexperienced, and unless you’re playing a game that’s been created with a lot of experience, you’re probably not going to enjoy it. But, if you persevere and keep playing, then you get better. Playing with lots of different games provides a lot of different gaming experiences, and you enjoy some more than others, but at the end of the day they it all comes back to personal preference.
More related to this subject, playing the same game over and over again isn’t always a dull experience. Some people play the same game for most of their lives, even when they’ve played no other games before or since, but they still have a fun time, since every experience is different.
Thread summary: OP complains about highly successful and highly acclaimed video game. Gets obliterated by everyone else.
IMO Half Life was pretty average.
Then why the hell did you register in the forum of a Half-Life re-creation? :hmph:
I was merely “complain[ing] about a highly successful and highly acclaimed video game”. I think Half Life is brilliant, but I thought that by reenacting Deathmonkey7’s summation I could establish that his post was, in fact, a truthful prediction of any discussion which goes along those lines.
That, and seeing the reaction of members of this board to the phrase “Half Life sux0rs” is always hilarious.
Seeing as they didn’t hire him for anything of that caliber, I don’t think he did. He probably had a sign asking for some sort of work, they asked him some questions, discovered his voice was the perfect match for the character they had, and hired him.
Your point was not that they don’t hire people of the streets, but was more implying the idea that they don’t hire unqualified people. Voice acting, while better with training, probably doesn’t require nearly as much training or practice as programming or modeling, both jobs they would never have hired him for BECAUSE he wasn’t qualified.
Also, what’s the problem with him being hired partially because they felt bad for him? He was still qualified and did his job just as they needed him to, so the fact that they hired someone who needed the job over someone who didn’t just makes Valve that much better as a company.
I think it’s you who is dropping in intelligence, not me.
Note: Sorry towards Catz and other voice actors if my assumption is wrong, not meant as an attack on hard-working voice actors.
It requires a lot of training to be a good, versatile voice actor who can do a variety of different voices and can really control their voice, but you don’t necessarily need all of that training if your voice is perfect, as-is, for a character.
Diablo II, Audiosurf, Oblivion, Fallout 3. These are the firsts that I can think of that offers different gameplay everytime you play.
L4D is cool and all, but I got bored of it unfortunately. I do with most FPS online games, I am not sure why, I just find them usually to easy or full of dumb asses. (Which are in all games but usually you cant get rid of them in FPS)
I am sorry Imon, but all those games, in the end turn out to be the exact same gameplay. (And don’t get me wrong, I love them all and have played them all about 5 times).
Hello everybody, I created an account to tell you all a little something.
The man who Voice acted Eli Vance is none other than Robert Guillaume. This man has been in MANY many voice acting and other roles and is a well trained professional. IMDB profile here : https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0347039/
On that note, the man who was used as the face model, was the homeless man who had the sign which read looking for work. He was brought in for a few visits, and they modeled Eli after him accordingly.
I seriously doubt he earned a house out of it.
To everyone in this thread. This person is a Troll. That is all.
To the OP: Go Fuck yerself.
ITT: OP doesn’t understand the word “friend”; can’t enjoy four-person co-op game.
ITT:
some dumbass troll complains about Left 4 Dead and gets flamed by the audience
No, I’m serious L4D is overrated. Little replayability and boring game.
Awwwwww are you mad someone doesn’t wike your wittle game?
You go fuck yourself, cunt fuck.
Someone asked what I consider good with a lot of replayability.
Let’s see…
HL Series:
Best story in gaming by far, good gameplay, able to tackle situations in different ways each time.
CoD MW/MW2:
Good maps, tons of guns and unlocks, tons of game modes. Switch classes during games and completely change your style of play.
League of Legends/Heroes of Newerth:
Dozens of champions in both games, different game every time.
Those are actually the only 3 games I consistently play.
Then we have L4D 1/2:
4 big maps (campaigns), limited weapon selection (L4D2 changed this but still, new weapons got boring fast). For the most part it’s the same every time.
Where is the replayability in that?
Edit again:
Adding Crysis to the list of replayability
Crysis:
Weapon customization is extremely well done. Suit options and open world allow you to play each mission dozens of different ways. I load up the game a couple times a week to play through a few different levels and try out different ways of completing them.
No I wasn’t talking about the voice actor. Hence me saying “modeling, portraiture, etc.” I mean the guy they brought in for his picture. They modeled Eli after him. Normally VALVe models after the people who do the voice over. The only exceptions were Eli and Odessa. This man Larry was still working there 3 years ago when I went to see VALVe. He doesn’t do hardcore stuff like programming and such, but rather odd jobs around the offices. When I spoke with them, he had recently purchased a home which he paid for by working with VALVe. And yes my point WAS that they are willing to hire people off the streets, regardless of talent.
To OP: I don’t think you have registered that Valve is a multi-million dollar corporation with staff in the thousands, along with the income far more powerful than most. In a nutshell, they can work on two games at the same time. Also, have you ever considered that L4D and it’s sequel have substantially financed Half-Life 2: Episode 3? Without those two major successes, Valve could of possibly not been able to provide the necessary funds to produce such a game as Episode 3.
So, if you were too arrogant to read the paragraph above, please read this: Think before you post.
So why are the weapons in Modern Warfare not getting boring?
I was under the impression that they were a smaller dev.
Because there’s a shit ton as well as a shit ton of customization.
