Internet Explorer 9

So yeah I just downloaded it, and…

It’s totally broken. If I try to start it up, all I get is a half-loaded page, and a “IE9 encountered an unexpected error” thing that won’t shut down unless I kill IE9’s process.

Yeah, every time I use IE (against my will of course) it always loads a page with errors on it.

There is a 9?

8.5 technically

Here’s the Real question: who still uses IE? That shovelware browser is next to useless and damn slow when compared to Chrome or FireFox, the only reason I ever use it is to visit the webpage of a paper modeller friend of mine (the webpage’s “Store” doesn’t work in FireFox for some reason) and that’s only on my craptop.

Well in all fairness IE9 is getting some much-needed improvements that are bringing it to close performance with FF and Chrome

About 50% of internet users.

pebkac

IE9 is working well for me. I had to fix a thing on my website to make it work with the new IE9 rendering mode of course because hey thats what happened when IE7 and IE8 rolled.

No.

Not again.

Please. No.

If I have to fix another webpage for another version of IE, I’m going to throw the server out a window.

Wasn’t IE 9 supposed to be more compatible with CSS?

Me, since Firefox and Chrome are slower on my laptop (don’t ask me why) not to mention the people who don’t actually care about how good their browser is and lazy people who always use the default (good old Times New Roman nothing beats that).

yes but the vast majority of code assumes IE is broken and therefore uses IE specific hacks. These hacks now break (ironically) IE9 since it no longer renders or interprets pages the same way as IE6/7/8 so site code has to be fixed YET again. STUPID SHIT.

…and yet my (uber secure) employer insists on using Internet Explorer. oh the irony of government insistence.

That’s why I use Mozilla Firefox. Internet Explorer 9 sucks. They should change the design back to like it was in Internet Explorer 6. I liked that design.

well then you’re gonna hate Firefox 4.0 when it comes out.
I dare you to try the beta version.

I’m just going to leave this here:

Yeah FF4 sucks.

This will be your IE browser problem, also may be your DNS analytic not!

It’s still in Beta. All your arguments are invalid.

opera made NO difference from chrome at all

I think I’ll stay away from the Opera Browser… From the experience I’ve had using it on Nintendo consoles (the Wii and DSi both use opera, both are slow as hell and neither can run youtube)
