in a sperm of clouds
Actually I would release the day after E3 finishes, but at the beginning of the expo, tell everybody there is a crowbar somewhere in the building with the release date engraved on it. Then have Gabe take out his camera to take pictures of everybody elses empty booths and post them on Steam
I would announce it on April Fools, then release it the following day bundled with Portal 2 in what would be called The Box
The following takes place after releasing portal 2:
- Announce for l4d3.
- Finish ep3.
- Go to e3 and talk about l4d3.
- Say it will be released in one month.
- Release ep3 after 2 months!
- Make an evil laugh.
- Finish and release l4d3.
- Make an even louder evil laugh!
- Announce for portal 3.
- Finish hl3 (because rumors say it will only be 3 episodes)
- loop!
- Finish EP3
- Talk to GameInformer about hidden release dates and such.
- ???
4 Profit from surprise uprise in sales of EP3
I would release it in box of chocolates, with 5 chocolates for each year they made us wait.
Also, tomorrow.
I would make Valve a chocolate selling company and then give out ep3 in each 5 chocolate box!
let headcrabs loose so anyone who didn´t play HL will be zombiefied. After all HL-Veterans united for extinguishing the headcrab plague, it will be released so they can play HL Ep3 in peace for all eternity.
IMO, make a YouTube video of some Valve guys having lunch (a pizza maybe?) with a sheet of paper under it with the Ep. 3 release date. Don’t draw attention to the paper, just make the guys do something funny and leave the Ep. 3 stuff really subtle.
Three Years late.
Never announce it …Never release it
Just play it myself for 5 years
Awsome.
On the release day telling the people its been delayed for an unknown period.
In the same way I would release Black Mesa. Releasing a cryptic announcement telling people that a release date for ep3 is hidden somewhere in steam or valve related web pages. The announcement would be so ambiguous that only the die hard fans will start searching around the web and ultimately discover the release date. The release date would be exactly 2 months after the announcement is made (that would be between October and December)
thread summary:
i would make it insanely difficult or impossible to get the game hurdur
Gabe: “We here at Valve Software are in the business of making and selling video games. Most of our games are very popular and have a large fanbase. That’s why we’re not going to tell anyone about future releases and we certainly will make it near impossible to get the game. Because that’s how we make the big bucks.”
I’d let everyone know ep3 will be released by riding a giant Gonarch through every major city while it spits acid at them and baby headcrabs are constantly spewing out of its testicle.
I would release a youtube video of Gabe talking about Portal 2. On the pc behind there would be episode 3 and show alyx dead. Then the video would disable comments and only keep it up for a day. Haha, that would piss people off, hah.
You are one sick puppy.:fffuuu:
Didn’t Valve hide their internal release date in a JPG screenshot of post-alpha Half-Life2? i remember there being dates, imaginative references and ascii art in several images on Valve’s website. All you had to do was open the JPG images in notepad to see the hidden information.
i think it’d be cool if Valve threw out the release date hidden in some sort of media update.

Didnt they do that in portal when u pick up the radios and move em around you pick up morse code if u collected all the morse code id would lead you to a BB where there are images and then there were clues in the ASCII. Or something like that. Would be sweet if they did it with half life
