If you were Valve, how would you announce and release HL2:ep3?

If I were valve, I would set a release date, release one more piece of concept art a week before it came out, then put it on steam for pre-order. Then, the game would release, download, etc. The game would have a normal appearance in our steam library, but upon opening the file it changes into COD : BO and it tells you that you cannot play until you make 15th prestige. Then, upon making 15th prestige, have it completely wipe out your hard drive. Then, once exactly 100 people do this, release the real game on nintendo 3DS.

A CTF map for TF2 is released a month before E3; the briefcase is the model of Gman’s briefcase. Whenever you get it back to your base the announcer says “prepare for unforseen consequences”. A new weapon is released for the Engineer, the crowbar and in each base there is an overhead projector displaying Company Performance for September 1971 (40 years before Ep3’s release))

I would announce at E3 that Left 4 Dead 3 would be coming out, show the teaser and at the last second tell them that I was just kidding and show episode 3 instead.

Launch a Viral Campaign that rivals the best that JJ Abrams could come up with. Starting with the Final Transmission Achievement in Portal 2. Ep3 is shown at E3 but its just a part of the viral and carries on upon its release in September

I’d finish it with out a word. Come into contact with every major grocery store franchise, and just shelve EP3 with the desserts and treats. See how long it takes for people to notice, then just ask “y u mad?” when someone rages.
