I prefer Crypt Kringle.
Wow! I love the detail in that image. You can see the abandoned parts of the facility really starting to show, and the lighting is just really well done and truly captures that old look.
I can’t wait for this, it looks like we’ll get to see plenty of animals with candy canes and as a strong Half-Life fan, those were a favourite of mine back in the day.
Keep it up!
I’d love to see a mod adding Christmas trees and decorations all around Black Mesa. Celebrate the holidays and blast through aliens and marines alike!
I considered making a mini campaign where you played a scientist at a Black Mesa Holiday party.
It wasn’t that great of an idea.
Barring Gina choreo and animation, I don’t have a whole lot to do anymore, so my job for the last while has been redoing a lot of older textures. Armory cabinets, airlocks, airducts (which you can see wrapped in the holiday shot!), all winches, all sorts of old stuff that just looked bad or could use some work.
Here’s one of 'em:
That is… actually, a huge improvement! Like going from the freemod version to Steam, really.
EDIT: I’m also unreasonably fond of the small “Crypt” symbols on the arms.
That reminds me, there will definitely be at least some small visual improvements for the Steam Workshop version. Not that we’re withholding anything, but because some stuff I won’t have time to do before the free version’s release.
That new model for the holo-projector looks really neat. I love how it seems to come straight out of the 90s, and that Crypt glyph is on the perfect spot too.
Yeah, it´s pretty clever. I´m very excited for this!
this has me hyped more then the update coming to steam.
Wow that is a huge improvement. But if you will forgive me for being an annoying nitpicking arseface…

That texture on the back of the bracket appears flipped turnways, when compared to the previous iteration.
But seriously, it looks great!
Ooh, nice catch! Got it fixed up!
So for fuck sake i want to stop think about half-life 3.It’s your duties not mine.I can retreat from this game project. It’s job for not for me and not for gabe newell maybe for neil druckmann.

Two threads of yours about this has been closed. And you posted this on something that has nothing to do with the Crowbar Collective team. Enough. Any further posts on this will cause you to be banned for one week.
I’ll take “broken English” for $4000, please.
Anyways back on the topic of Hazard Course…
It’s nice to see you’ve taken the initiative to improve your assets! I’m confident that when it releases, Hazard Course will be a worthy tutorial chapter (although I am well aware that it’s far more than a tutorial at this point) for Black Mesa.
If I were in charge of Black Mesa and three of my level designers went and made the Hazard Course into the state of what it is now, I’d fire them on the spot for wasting so much sheer effort on the chapter, to be honest.
It still boggles my mind how much sheer stuff is actually in it.
Sorry if you said this before, but… this project of Hazard Course will be included in Black Mesa game or it’s a separate mod? It would be great if this is included in the actual BM game.
It’s separate. There will be a version for the free/mod version of Black Mesa. Once that’s out, we’ll start looking into a Steam Workshop version, but HC won’t be included in the main game in any incarnation.
I’d fire them after just finding out they took more than a few months on the tutorial, but to each his own. Also, let’s not get them too hype, I feel like maybe our efforts makes us feel like it’s more than it is.
It’s a separate mod for Black Mesa. It would be cool to see it included with Black Mesa, though.
