Ramrezoid… I like your thinking!
seriously though if half life goes movie, make sure uwe boll dosn’t get his sweaty little fingers on it. cause then it will turn out like “alone in the dark” or “bloodrayne” and then ppl will get hurt. badly.

well . they turned out like that to make sense to people like my grammar slaves who don’t know much about the world as a whole you see…
no, he loved it because he is fucking retarded, anyone who liked that piece of shit must be brain dead.
Also whats with you ppl and the silent freeman ? I see no problem in making a great movie out of the hl1 story, sure the xen part needs to be totally changed, the ending redone, but as long as it will focus on the charcters and ppl actually traing to survive it, it schould work.
Even the beging is great, a tram going slowly showing the base, and in it gordon sitting with his head down and plaing with his access card, and when it gets in a dark part, the shit like directed by and produced by will pop up instead of gordons info, wich we would know frtom the access card;] The whole time we listen to that voman voice.
See ? that wasnt that hard, anyone who dosnt suck a writing a decent script, would be able to make somthing interesting out of that story. The only reason why valve didnt find a decent script for it till now is because thet didnt aproach any good writer …
Mad TV and Mad Magazine are owned buy ‘Mad’ franchise, so they are one in the same
See, I always thought that movies from games never ever did the games justice, just my opinion. But, after seeing Escape from City 17, I actually think a Half Life movie could be pretty dandy, as long as it wasn’t about any of the main characters, probably just citizens and such. If it were a movie, for me if any of the named characters it would just ruin the it instantly, firstly because of casting people for the role, not always the best choices on the parts of the casting directors, but also because there’s something in my mentality that would be like “That’s a real person, not an NPC! This isn’t right, they belong in the game!” D:.
So yeah…
really even if they did use the names if they found someone who looked like gordon freeman id think it would be good… seriously escape from city 17 was good onyl cause it was close to the game i do think that if they added a FP veiw like cloverfield… it would be good jsut get decent actors and follow the games basic story line
Quentin Tarantino said he would like to make it then i would be down.
As much as I like Tarantino, I don’t think he’d be a good choice for HL. He’d make it his own instead of staying true to the story.
We have the silent freeman because in the game Gordon is ment to become us, he doesn’t have a voice that we know of. Nor do I think he will. As for your script of the beginning, I doubt it. Movies cut so much content and change so much, that its not even the same. Hell I bet you they’ll take out half the enemies of the game… So no…I don’t want a movie made out of half life. I don’t want to even hear of one being made. You’ve seen what they did to DOOM. That was a travesty… The only reason Valve has refused is cause they KNOW what will happen to their series. they KNOW how many people are gonna be pissed off at the end.
I dont believe all that “Gordon is ment to become us”. The only reason why we have silent freeman is because in 1998 it was simplier to do him that way, lack of technology, budget, and time made the decision pretty obvious back then. And it was the only game where it worked, in hl2 ep1 and ep2 it dosnt work, the parts when ppl talk to freeman are awkward and distracting. You sit there thinking why the hell isnt he saying anything.
Also the only reason why doom movie was bad is because the director and the writer sucked. If i was the producer i would hire somewone who actually can make a good movie.
just hire the goddamn coen brothers, and we have 9/10 half-life movie.
gordon isn’t mute in theory , he can make people follow , stand still , i think he talks in theory but practical that should be every player’s voice… also , no one ever refers to him as being mute in the hl series …
There shouldn’t be a Movie, but a TV series
Series 1: The month leading up to the Black Mesa Incident (The incident itself will be a three part finale), with flashbacks of the characters lives before they started working.
Series 2: Post RC, with refugees seeking shelter in the larger Cities. The Seven Hour war occurs nearer the end of the series and takes place as a multi episode finale.
Series 3: Details Eli’s struggles to stay hidden from the Combine and difficulties of raising Alyx in a post-occupied world. Finale shows how the science team knew of Gordon’s existence and presence in City 17
Series 4: Timeline between start of HL2 to the end of Episode 2. For the sake of more character building and overlapping story arcs, several more characters would be introduced, or reintroduced from earlier series.
Series 5: Beyond
Alyx, “Man of few words arn’t you?”
No, we’d just have a needlessy complicated film where everyone gets overly confused and people die and then the film finishes with absolutely no hint of a conclusion and everything is pretty much worse than when the film started. On the up side you’ll have awesome music and a good cast, possibly with Steve Buscemi.
dude, you just exactly described half life 1 … and still say no ?
now thats a argument fail
video games should not become movies thell screw it up some how every time
^ Yeah. Doesn’t matter how good the director is. Interactive Visual entertainment cannot be overcome by mere visual entertainment that all you do is sit and watch. Movies have time restraints, Games do not. There fore a whole bunch of relative stuff has to be taken out or changed (I can’t tell you how many times I’ve said this) to the point, the plot isn’t the same anymore…
but games arent movies, 10h game dosnt equal 10h movie. If you cut out alll the shoothing and other bullshit out of hl1, you would get 20min of story at best, and 40min in hl2.
They wouldnt have to take stuff out, they would be forced to make the story more complex just to fill it to 75min.
Also IT IS all about the director, good one can ture even the most crappy story into a masterpiece.
Wait, wasnt Taratino that guy who made that totally sucky movie?
Why is it that everyone really LOVES Escape from city 17? It’s like 5 minutes and 3 of them are only computer animated striders and dropships shooting at stuff. To me it looked like a damned commercial for Half Life 2!
Ha, that’s a very good point. Hell, Coen brothers would be perfect for Half-Life.
