I believe that this is the year. You know how Valve has always gone for a “When it’s done.” kind of approach? I bet you that they’ve been upgrading the game to newest game engine since 2008. And I’m certain that they’re trying to make another game that will win Game Of The Year.
However, about the game engine, that requires many texture updates, facial expression updates, and many more things. I think, however, that since the next generation of consoles has come out - they’ll release the game by Christmas or in the first quarter of 2015. I speculate this because the Orange Box came out for the 360 a year after it was released.
If it doesn’t come out by the beginning of 2015, I swear on my soul that I will get myself addicted to Heroin and personally email Gaben that it was entirely his fault.
I don’t think that’d be a very safe bet.

I think this is a great plan. Just replace heroin with magic shrooms, salvia, acid or LSD and you’ll think you’re playing HL3 no matter what you are actually doing!
