Half-Life 3 is in development

Not my photo, but just showing what I had. Yeah, I had the soundtrack, too.

Does anyone have the old Half life guidebook (with detailed walkthrough)? I know there was also a guidebook for the Opposig force expansion. Can’t find it anywhere on the net or online shops…

Oh. But is the case at the bottom the soundtrack?

It’s probably just the jewel cases the disk was in.

It’s only right that the first game to utilize the new Source 2 engine should be Half-Life 3, given the history, importance and heritage, and in tribute for the impact the Half-Life series has had within the gaming universe, not to mention its pivotal role in getting VALVE up and off the ground.

Well I really hope Half-Life 3 is more like Half-Life 1 than Half-Life 2.

I loved Half-Life 1/Black Mesa because it thrust you into this world, then all hell break loose, and next thing you know you are in this alien world.

It’s a lot like Doom or Quake.

But Half-Life 2… eh… I love Half-Life 2 don’t get me wrong, but so many people whenever I say Half-Life automatically think about Half-Life 2.

It’s as if Half-Life 1 and Black Mesa doesn’t matter to them.

I remember September 14th, 2012.

Black Mesa had come out.

And I swear it felt like I was playing a VALVE game it was that good.

The graphics (in my opinion) are way better than Crysis 3. They look more realistic.

And it was awesome! I loved every single moment of it from start to finish!

Rumours like urban legend “Paul Mc Cartney is Dead in 1966”.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dN8e9b2ON8s

I liked how real and cold the atmosphere in Half Life 2 seemed, everything felt firmly grounded in reality. I felt it had more character than Half Life 1, though it could be because I actually live in an area that has lots of places with decaying docks, sheet metal and a general old and uncared for look to it.

I agree with you though about Black Mesa. I think they did an amazing job of giving it it’s own life, I could recognize and relate a lot of things in black mesa to actual, real world counterparts like schools, hospitals and others which was able to ground it firmly into reality in my mind.

You lost me there. As much of a fan of Black Mesa I am, no way do the graphics look even comparable to Crysis 3. The art is of very high quality, sure, but when you look up close the detail is obviously lower.

so why half-life 2:episode 4 return of ravenholm were canceled one year ago?

because the deal fell through and Arkane did Dishonored instead???

It was more like 6 years ago

ye

The main thing I’m looking forward to in Half-Life 3 is…

Enemy variation.

In Half-Life 2 the player was supposed to have encountered some Bullsquids, Houndeyes, and a few other Xenian aliens.

Along with the Gargantua at some point.

But somewhere along the line… that all got shoved into a room and got locked.

Because in Half-Life 2 it’s just Combine, Headcrabs, and that’s it… it’s kinda just the same enemies.

I hope there’s enemy variation in Half-Life 3.

Why isn’t this bot banned yet?

Um, because he’s not a bot?

Good acting then. Also with such a username, that’s what one would expect.

Bots have 3 rules usually:

They post the moment they sign up
They usually stop after 1 post per account
They always have at least 1 URL link in the post because signatures are not allowed here

This person is just probably super young and doesn’t speak english natively. Nothing wrong with that, just makes it a bitch to communicate.

It’ll probably end up being nothing just like every other time stuff like this has happened. Valve’s booth at GDC is on 3/3/15 at 3:00PM though. I think the convention schedules stuff, but that’s still a hilarious coincidence/humor on the convention’s part.

Edit: At least one of them is at that time. The physics one. The OpenGL one isn’t though.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
