Grand Theft Auto V

“The main thing we’ve tried to do is integrate [the cutscenes] into the experience more, flowing them in and out of cutscenes as seamlessly as possible so everything ties together into a single experience.”

So they’re sticking with the Max Payne 3 method of railroading the PCs into bad cover so they can get shot right off the bat. Great.

I already told you your theories were wrong man…but there’s the proof!

Anyway, FUCK YES!!! Reading it now.

Not necessarily. I doubt every (or any) GTAV cutscenes will lead directly into gunfights, just like IV. And they probably won’t have too many more than IV had too. GTA has never been about cutscenes all that much.

Edit: I’m reading the scans right now, so at any time you can switch characters, and the camera zooms way out and then back in. That’s cool.

Edit 2:

:jizz:

It’s going to be an even bigger thing than everyone predicted. We’re going to shit so many pants the world will smell bad for a couple of days.

Except this is GTA and shooting isn’t the only thing that happens in the game.

Game looks amazing for a late console release.

I’m still wondering how they’re managing to pull this off on the consoles. Is it going to run like shit or are Rockstar wizards? Hopefully the PC version isn’t too far away. I might need to rent this for PS3/360 when it’s released.

The way they describe the detail on the micro level and zooming out and in to another part of the map with the same level of detail is mind blowing.

Wow, this game sounds simply amazing.

I guarantee you this game will have one or more references to Heat. The main characters remind me of the crew in Heat a little.

“Three Leaf Clover” was already a gigantic “Heat” homage. They might take some references to “The Town,” or perhaps the opening robbery in “The Dark Knight.”

This is more Heat than Three Leaf Clover to me…

Set in LA…check
Main characters are both middle aged career criminals looking to get out of the game but get pulled back in… check
Story is focused around pulling off heists…check
Can’t think of any more right now…

^ Fair point. I’m just saying, 3LC was a pretty big homage in regards to the way the action was staged post robbery- a shootout through the streets, predominantly using cars for cover for large portions of it. There were cuts through alleyways and subway tunnels to differentiate it, and it was a great scenario.

I submit. I’m not afraid to concede.

Totally looking forward to it.

wow… I wonder if it’ll take like 15 mins to drive across the map

Not quite sure how I feel about that, drifting around corners and all over the place was always a big part of GTA driving for me.

Yeah, I loved the driving in GTAIV, it was pretty much perfect, though I know some people didn’t like it. I’m going to be cautiously optimistic but I’m still kind of bummed at that part.

is anyone looking forward to seeing the second trailer tomorrow (or today in some areas in the world)?

Uh, EVERYONE??

sorry, but it doesn’t seem like it, Mr. Fridge

I miss the PS2 era driving. I dealt with the driving physics in GTA4, but I didn’t like them.

I am sad that they are trying to make them even more realistic.
