Grand Theft Auto V

What I don’t understand is why the physics have to be realistic in gta. Its fucking gta not a racing sim.

OMGWTFBBQ, Y U NO LAIK SUPER REALZ GRAPHX!!!111!?! No seriously, I have no idea, we seem to be stuck in some bubble where everything has to be realistic at the moment. :frowning:

Hey, I liked GTA4’s driving physics. The cars were a bit fishtail-happy but it was solid control for the most part. San Andreas on PC was downright impossible by comparison, all of the turns for the BMX bike were way too tight and I kept running into things. I prefer to get some use out of the e-brake instead of being able to curve the car tighter than Westley in Wanted could curve bullets.

The ps2 era driving was the best, I remember just driving around finding new ways to send my car flying and spinning into the air or sideswiping pedestrians mid-drift. The GTA:IV driving I hated at the start but I grew to like and accept it.

The graphics are becoming more “realistic” which is acceptable but when they start completely changing gameplay mechanics such as driving (big part of any gta game), well I just don’t think they should. I’m sure I’ll obviously be able to adjust to the new driving, but it certainly won’t be as fun and I won’t be happy about it.

Besides GTA, how many realistic sandbox crime based games do we have?

It’s so close!!

dis gun b good

According to that gameinformer article, IIRC, they’re actually “rebuilding all of the gameplay mechanics from the ground up.” It’s not just the driving.

Edit: 34 minutes to the trailer. I’m getting excited about a game I have no chance of playing.

Some awesome person over at GTAforums.com made this really cool series of screenshot comparisons between GTA V (PS3) and GTA IV (PC Max Settings)

Looks like the RAGE engine has really come a long way since IV. Dat lighting…

I love the new screenshots actually have more vivid colors. Usually it’s the the other way around.

Impressive.

I’d comment on it, but I didn’t actually listen to it because I forgot my earbuds today and I’m in public ATM.

So is this a gameplay trailer or is it more similar to the first trailer? Because I want to see some gameplay.

It’s a cinematic trailer, it shows the characters, some missions and locations. It’s worth a watch.

I just hope we get a decent PC version,Max Payne 3 showed that Rockstar can pull it off after all,but GTA is so much bigger in every possible way.

It looked in engine on my phone

Well, that’s because it is.

lol, Stevie Wonder. Nice. Looks slick.

An old wise criminal, a young rookie, and a drug psychopath?
I’ll take the psychopath please

Just watched the trailer… all I can say is

Now excuse me while I go and watch it another 100 times.

edit: Here’s IGN’s Rewind Theater, where they de construct the trailer : https://au.ign.com/videos/2012/11/14/rewind-theater-gta-vs-new-trailer
