General Legend of Zelda Thread

As much as I understand this a forum for based off of a mod based off of a first-person shooter which is complete different from the Legend of Zelda, but this is just a thread to discuss the complete Legend of Zelda series.

Popular theories/arguments:

  1. People think trains don’t make sense in Spirit Tracks, but really the train was invented 6-10 years BEFORE the steamboat(which was the main way of transportation in Phantom Hourglass).
  2. Fierce Deity from Majora’s Mask translates to “Devil God,” so people think that Fierce Deity might or might not be an evil spirit.

Just add to the list if you know anything.

…Well, you have some epic theories! :awesome:

…Majora’s Mask takes place after Ocarina of Time. That’s about all I know. Ha.

I played a bit of Ocarina of Time again last week. It was unsurprisingly awesome.

Yeah…Ya know, the Nintendo 64 was epic…I remember when they first came out. Good memories with that thing!

I first played it last year.
That, my friends, is how you know a game is a classic.

Ocarina of Time was awesome. Though I don’t see how people dislike Wind Waker like they do.

It’s just that there are some people out there who think that cel-shading was a mistake for Zelda.

Unfortunately, I am one of those people. :what:

(Before I’m burned at the steak, I’d just like to say I did like Wind Waker. It was awesome. But just think what it could have been… :’( )

Oh well. I guess I’m actually kind of a hypocrite through, considering the fact that my personal favorite was Link’s Awakening, which was also pretty cartoonish. But then again, it was GameBoy, cartoonishness is excusable on a tiny screen. :stuck_out_tongue:

As far as graphics go, Twilight Princess was beautiful, but it felt too much like the devs were competing with Ocarina of Time when it came to the storyline. The beginning was great, but then, later on… yeah, I don’t know what happened there… :fffuuu:

I’m a big fan of the Zelda series. And Link’s Awakening is my favorite too (it was also my first, that probably influences it a bit). I’m playing through Spirit Tracks right now, and enjoying it plenty.

:fffuuu:

The original Legend of Zelda beats all the sequels and prequels.

I love the Zelda series, but I must admit I haven’t really played all that many of them. I’ve played Ocarina of Time, Link to the Past, Windwaker, and Twilight Princess, which leaves…pretty much all of the Gameboy games, and the original NES games, and one or two others on SNES I think. Probably could find an emulator for those, if anyone has any recommendations let me know.

As for theories…well, isn’t the whole series like a James Bond thing? As in, there are lots of Links and Zeldas but they all follow the same path and become the same sort of people.

Link is just one baddass motherfucker. i beleive he is the same character, just different ages of himself, different time peroids, and different quests.

I highly recommend Ocarina of Time and the sequel, Majora’s Mask, of the Zelda games on the N64. Those two are what blasted its popularity and made it a legend of top best games in history.

never played the most recent one but the gay one is my fav. was cool lookin and i like sailing boats

Those are my two favorite, with Ocarina of Time in the lead because it’s a classic compared to Majora’s Mask. In case you’re looking for a N64 Emulator, get Project 64, if you’re using Windows. It’s best for all N64 games. I pay Zelda on it. And if you get ahold of a N64 controller and adapter, plug it into your PC and play like that. It’s cool.

I have those games on my gamecube ( I nver got round to finishing them though)

I got oracle of ages first, back when i was around 10 years old. i was the best at both it and seasons, it’s what turned a bully into a friend, currently i’m replaying ages and seasons, i finished link’s awakening last week. I’ve played a bit of the wind waker on my friend’s gamecube, but i never really got the hang of it.

Some shit about the art style not being realistic.

Can you believe that there was a time when Nintendo fanboys were graphics whores? :stuck_out_tongue:

back when Nintendo consoles always had the cutting edge technology. Or some of it anyways. The Super Nintendo had a better graphics card, but the Genesis had a better processor; hence why SNES games looked great and Genesis games were really fast (Sonic). Or maybe that was the “Blast Processing”

I just love the 180 degree turn around over their stance in graphics. I’m not a graphics whore, but I’m not going to be blind and tell you that graphics don’t matter. They matter on different scales for every genre.

I only played and Completed Ocarina of time, very good game

Never got to play the new ones though (GC, Wii, DS, etc)
