:fffuuu: And I thought Double Agent was a fail. I won’t be buying this game anytime soon.
I too was a bit disappointed by Bioshock. Not as much as xilef, but felt it wasn’t as amazing as people claim it was.
And Borderlands. Worst… ending… ever…

I love that not only were the unsatisfied with giving you an awful ending to the story, but they also decided that you’d get shitty loot too.
this
You suck so, so much.
I know. I remember when I got that charge weapon and thinking “Sweet! Alien weaponry I can’t wait!” only to keep going and find that not only did the gun suck, you didn’t actually get any more cool alien weaponry from the vault that it’s all suppose to be in.
Flamesheild up!
Ahem… Dragon Age: Origins.
Justification? What didn’t you like about it? I can’t very much flame you in a high-quality fashion without a little more tinder.
I compared it with Mass Effect too much.
Not the most fun gameplay I have played, pretty dull to be honest.
But the story sucked me in, as have any other Bioware RPG done.
I can name a few:
Red Faction 2: Overall a good game, but it didn’t relate to Red Faction much. Felt like a completley different game to me.
Red FactionL Guerilla: A FPS Game turned TPS… 'Nuff said. Not that TPS’s aren’t good (I like GTA alot, right behind Half-Life), but I didn’t like how it WAS a compl;etley differen’t game.
Grand Theft Auto Libery City Stories: I played GTA 3, loved it, Played Vice City, it was better than 3. Played San Andreas, better than both of those, and possibly the best GTA game. They make the next game, It sucked. To me, the story was kinda, Meh-ish, and they took out alot of the features that made San Andreas so good. I feel the same way with Vice City stories, but it was a little better.
Resident Evil 4: Resident Evil 4 was by far one of my favorites games, but the fact that it has almost nothing to do with the Resident Evil story, and that the gameplay changed so much, it’s realy not a Resident Evil game to me.
Half-Life: Source: Half-Life is the best game ever IMO, but why take a game like that, fix SOME physics, add better water and slightly better lighting, add some small details to some parts and the add a dirty look to every friggin’ texture and call it new?
Tom Clancy’s Endwar: I like games with that style of play, and the voice support feature was cool and all, but for some reason I was never really able to get into the game. Probably because it was too easy.
If you get your Eridian weapon skill up past about 5, they start becoming useful weapons.
Deus Ex: Invisible War. Does not even deserve the title Deus Ex. A few of the original characters are in it. That’s it. Where’s my tactical inventory? Where’s my upgradeable skills? What the fuck, Gray’s talk now? Cop out decision with making JC basically perform all of the three endings, even though it makes no sense. Loading screens every three steps. Voice acting in the first game could, at times, be described as loveably wooden, voice acting in IW is just plain shit. Game looks shit. Mutiltools pick locks. Was released on Xbox, then ported to PC. Food is a better health resource than medkits. Biomods. Swappable biomods. (I literally felt my IQ drop) No SDK. NOT IN THE UNREAL ENGINE. I could go on, but I cba. It has about as much to do with the first game as Star Trek has to do with Indiana Jones.
Halo 2: Utter shit from beginning to end. Too short, heroic and legendary difficulties were far far too difficult, console couldn’t handle the engine properly, no assault rifle, vehicle control felt icky and too highly strung (warthog for instance in the first game had huge mass to it and would perform lovely sweeping drifts, in two it sticks to the ground like a rock coated in industrial strength superglue and bounces around like a rubber ball), nerfed the pistol making it completely useless, single coolest easter egg gun I’ve ever seen extremely hard to get to and lasts about half a level (read: 15 mins), lamest ending of all time.
Halo 3: Too much hype, too short, very meh plot (oh the portal to the key of the salvation of the entire galaxy just so happens to have been placed on Earth? and all of humanity’s enemies gather neatly and conveniently in one place?), very meh graphics, assault rifle back but nerfed to fuck, pistol only slightly better than in two, no dual wielding needlers, needlers no longer explode with as much vigour, lack of Cortana’s wit throughout the game, when Cortana is finally brought back near the end, the chemistry she brought to the other two games with her attitude and humour is no longer there (due to complete and utter lack of aforementioned characteristics), ending level a near copy paste of the original (oh looky, we’re escaping from a fatally exploding object again, only this time it’s a ring instead of a ship. whoop de doo.), atmosphere of the entire franchise ruined by Cortana’s almost emo blitherings at various points in the game.
I’ve had enough ranting on disappointments for one evening, flameshield going up to protect from Johnkiller and his ilk.
to be fair, i thought the graphics for halo 3 were pretty fucking awesome. :ninja:
They were.
Also, it’s not like you should be expecting a good story line from Halo.
SOCOM: Confrontation was quite disappointing for me, i’ve been an avid supporter of the whole SOCOM series and really missed the single player game in this… It would have been nice to have one seeing as it was the first PS3 release for them!
Also, the “getting into a game and playing” process is pretty slow compared to the older releases
It looked like it was made from clay.
No no, you’re thinking of Doom 3 and plastic.
Which reminds me…
Biggest disappointment ever.
I think you may have been looking at some clay.
Halo 3, ODST.
I loved the Halo series. Those games were boring and shitty.
Halo: Good
Halo 2: The graphics seem a little worse then the original, but it was good too.
Halo 3: Not having fun.
Halo 3 ODST: I must burn this game immediately.
Halp Reach: Redemption, anyone?
Modern Warfare 2: Did I even have to mention it?
Bad Company 2(somewhat): The community was a bit of a problem. And a 40 ping caused quite a bit of lag even at medium settings.
Don’t get me wrong…i’m a huge HL fan , but Half-Life 2 was a big disappointment for me. The whole european setting didn’t do it for me. And some of the chapters like Nova Prospekt…didn’t hold my interest. And some of the baddies like the Ant Lion was just plain annoying!
