Sarcasm. If you’d been around the forums longer you’d get that there’s a lot of it here.
Internet sarcasm is basically nonexistent as sarcasm depends on the tone of the voice…

A wrong statement based on a correct observation.
Although the internet does lack acoustic communication and thus no tone of voice is transmitted, acoustic prosody is not the only prosody in existence.
There are things like lexical prosody, orthographic prosody, semantic prosody etc.
That means that sarcasm and irony can very well be used on the internet, although it is much more difficult to employ.
Example orthographic prosody: Wow ramnitaator y yo pics so much funy.
(Using bad orthography and grammar, thus acting like a retard, thus something liked by a retard is retarded and not funy probably = main message got reversed = sarcasm/irony)
Example lexical prosody: Fellow Raminator: That picture conveyed a superb message indeed.
(Using stilted register and archaic words on a board = hyperbole = possible irony/sarcasm)
Example semantic prosody: That picture certainly spread an important message.
(Using a verb usually followed by negative nouns like rumour, desease etc. = contradicting main message (“important”) = irony/sarcasm.
