The part in HL (Unforeseen Consequences) when the scientist flips out of the window.
I was like LOLWUT!?

I really liked the airboat in hl2. It was pretty fast-paced, unlike the other vehicle chapters in the series. (On a Rail was BORING)
Also when somebody finally starts to talk about “our mutual friend” and the test sample.
I mean you don’t get to know much about G-Man, but when you do it’s always suspenseful.
I like midtown war in HL2 as the resistance fight with the striders
I loved the part in Office Complex where two scientists are trying to escape. One gives the other a leg up into a vent then climbs in. A second or two later you hear screaming and random gibs pop out the vent. I laughed so hard at that!!! XD
One of my favorite parts was launching the rocket at the end of On A Rail and just listening to the music that plays. I somehow felt like I’d accomplished something.
Another good part is in “We’ve Got Hostiles” when the scientists runs up to a soldier saying “rescued at last, thank God you’re here” and the soldier kills him.
Call me an old softie, but I like the story line in Half Life 2, Episode 2. I particularly enjoyed the scene in Our Mutual Friend when Gordon, Alyx and Eli were talking (after Alyx tells her father to “prepare for unforeseen consequences”) and Magnusson walks in and sarcastically complains about everyone sitting around.
For some reason, I really liked the character interaction in that scene. In fact, I liked most of the non-action scenes character interaction in the Half-Life series. The running, shooting and driving over zombie bits of Half-Life are great, don’t get me wrong, but the character bits are better than a hundred zombies getting hit by a buggy.
The Alyx-Gordon interaction at the beginning of Episode 1 was great, too, when you’re on the Stalker train.
Agreed, the “drama” in Half Life is probably my favorite thing about the series.
Not sure if it’s my favourite moment, but the part in Blast Pit where you take the elevator up and enter the giant silo surrounded by green waste was really great.
It was a giant indoor playground of destruction where you had to be careful not to fall to your death
Pwning all the Combine in the Citadel with the Gravity Gun Redux was pretty awesome too.
I really prefer things that happen by chance, rather than being scripted.
Like, when I was playing Timeline III and I came across a corridor full of dead Nazis and assassins, with blood everywhere, wondering what kind of shit happened here. Then realizing that I’m back where I started and that I did it; that’s awesome.
HL1
-Unforeseen Consequences
When I first played this, I was surprised to see everything…so devastated. And I was surprised to see some still living. I would always race past the headcrabs until I got my first weapon. Then I went batshit insane with it.
-Blast Pit
The tentacles… I loved seeing the tentacles. And then grew sad when I had to kill them. And then I was happy to see shit burn to oblivion.
-Power Up
I dunno, I just like seeing Gargantuans. Even if they liked to completely murder me when I kept forgetting where to go once I got everything running.
-Xen
Xen was pretty damn cool the first time I saw it. I kept dying and eventually my younger sister helped me out through it, but… hell, that was awesome.
-Gonarch’s Lair
KILL GIRL HEADCRAB WITH TESTICLE THAT SHOOTS BABY HEADCRABS AAAAAAAAA
-End Game
G-Man you magnificent bastard. I always save before running into the portal/waiting it out and getting mauled alive by Xen grunts. :U
HL2
-EVERY PART OF IT
I think the only thing I didn’t like was Ravenholm. Goddamn fast/poison zombies. |:<
Hl1: Defeating Nihilanth.
BS: Getting My Pistol Before my Crowbar?, Sweet =D
Opfor: Getting the Barnacle as a Weapon
Hl2: Destroying the Citadel
Half-Life : The Incident with the Microwave, when you first see the Vourts during the Resonance Cascade and of course defeating Nihilanth.
Half-Life 2: The first speech with G-man, the Strider battles and the Explosion of the Citadel
Episode 1: The Train ride in the end.
Episode 2: “Death” of Alyx and the Antlion mine battle.
I’d have to say when you first arive in City 17…I think that was more “scary” than Ravenholm was, although I don’t think either of them are very scary.
Half life 1 - Xen Killing the GAINT but TEH GAINT Nihalanth and getting into the portal
HL Blue Shift - Looking at gordon as an GOD
HL OP - The Airplane Crash it as an awsome moment of the game (it was just the beggining)
HL 2 - The Awsome Graphics and Meeting New Zombiez
HL 2 Ep 1 - Being throwed by that dog in the citadel
HL 2 Ep 2 - The end fight with that Striders and Hunters
ALL ARE AWSOME :freeman:
HL1: Blast Pit
HL2: Ravenholm
Minerva: All of it!
urban flight was pretty good
The thing that really impressed me the most the first time I played the original Half-Life was the entire Resonance Cascade sequence. The panic I felt as the green apocalypse (to use a Ross Scott-ism) was ushered in. I remember panicking, trying to avoid the falling debris (I didn’t know if it would hurt me) and frantically looking for an exit, when suddenly the screen flashed green and cut to black, replaced only with the sound of breathing and a heart beating.
Sent chills down my spine.
I loved it and that’s what got me into Half Life.
I think we all feel this way
