Extremely strange things about Eli!

I noticed Gman’s sarcastic emphasis of “father” too. I don’t think that automatically makes Eli an alien, just not Alyx’s biological father (She doesn’t look a bit like him, but I just assumed that was because she just looked more like her mother).

EDIT: Oh yeah, and the “pause” is a glitch. It played smoothly when I played Ep2.

EDIT EDIT: And the Advisors didn’t slam Eli against the wall because they wanted the info about the Resistance intact.

OP, you say you’re comparing the troll levels on all the forums you visit (BM and facepunch is NOT a lot of forums) but I think you’re trying to add to it with threads like “the meaning of half life and black mesa” and “Eli is actually g-man”

Please stop making entirely ridiculous connections through completely shaky-nonexistent logic.

Eli being being an alien would be one of the WORST plot twists ever, excluding Japanese media.

That is an incredibly good point. I’ve always thought about Alyx not being Eli’s daughter but I never noticed that subtle hint. I mean if one parent has completely dark skin then it stands to reason the daughter would have at lest slightly dark skin.

In all likeliness, the reason Gman chuckled, is probably due to him thinking about how he knows Eli is going to die anyway which would defeat the point of the warning until you realize it could just very well be a warning to the player disguised as such. If you listen closely to the scene you’ll notice he chuckled after mentioning Black Mesa & we all know how that ended up. He also laughed after mentioning the vorts being your friends, so make of that what you will.

Eli being able to resist the Advisors, while both being pretty amazing & unexplained, making him an alien would seem pretty random at this point (now that he’s dead) because if they were going to work that into the plot, revealing such while he was alive would have been made far more interesting if he were alive to converse with the other characters about it.

It seems like MarshmallowRadiation had the best explanation so far. It makes sense for the advisors to want to get to his brain as fast as possible & without the risk of damaging it by throwing him & probably didn’t expect him to fight back so readily on account of the ambush. But I still wonder why the first one there wasn’t also the one to suck his brain.

Eli married Azian, who appears to be of Asian-descent, and had little Alyx. It’s not unreasonable for the progeny of a black man and an Asian woman to be light-skinned.

Meanwhile, check out the scenes with Alyx and Dr. Kleiner, for example, in Red Letter Day:

Note the skin color difference.

Yes, but Alyx’s skin color looks much more tan/asian than black. And it would be possible for her to come out white, but that would be fairly rare. I think in a fictional story the author wouldn’t make Alyx and Eli so different unless they were trying to hint at their lack of relation. Or perhaps I’m turning into gothicfighter and making ridiculous assumptions.

Alyx has olive skin, not Caucasian, which would be expected given her parents. No, I don’t think that Eli is anything other than human. After all, Eli was in Half-Life and sent you to get help after the resonance cascade and he spoke normally then.

I don’t think that there’s any possibility that he’s not a human being.

That fucking ruined it.

lol@the lack of posts made by the OP on this page

Knew I should have added that extra ‘f’ to get the gag across…

stop posting your “theories”

Uhm, hello? When in Ep2 another maggot (advisor) got gordan, a dead rebel’s body, alyx and a barrel he got us with telekinesis and tried to kill us.

Yeah I don’t think an advisor would risk that. If the first advisor was able to control Eli, he would have lift him up in the air without harming him. Probably Eli knew a way to resist the advisor’s powers. Maybe vorts were helping him. And I am sure there is a reason why the second- not the first - advisor kills Eli. This was probably a very well planned attack. Hell maybe Advisors were searching info about G-man. But if they wanted to know something about g-man they would have killed Gordon. Maybe there’s something much more important or maybe it’s all about the resistance. I don’t what they were trying to do but they succeeded and got away.

I just watched the scene again. It seems that both advisors had limited telekinetic capability.

When the first one came in, it just knocked the trio down. Then it SLOWLY pushed Alyx and Gordon against the wall, pulling Alyx away from Eli. Then the first advisor picked up Eli with its…err…hands (after getting pummeled with a pipe) and a second advisor came in and grabbed Alyx with its…err…hands before Dog came and kicked grub ass.

The barn advisor was able to pick up Gordon and Alyx and SLAM them against the wall. The chopper advisor could only slowly push them against the wall. Notice the difference in speed.

so, does the combine implants make them weaker? Or is just that the barn one was fully rested and just woke up and this others weren’t?

ugh the barn advisor was so fucking creepy the first time i saw it

I think I found something strange about Eli too, what is he doing in that video?

People always look into meaningless stuff just to see if someone else can believe that crap. As a matter of fact there are so many theories that one of them has to be true. I bet that might be one of the reasons Ep3 is being pushed back all the time. YOU FUCKING THINK TOO MUCH!!!

Eli’s metal-leg weighed him down, preventing him from being lifted up. :expressionless:

most plausible theory so far.
