Episode 3 Discussion and Information.

Yeah but you’re wrong.

I think until Episode 3 comes it is safe to say that.

Yeah, and you are wrong. Have you ever played HL2: Episode 2?

Even Portal mentions Black Mesa, you can see through some windows that projectors are running some sort of Powerpoint, and it’s talking about the rivalry between Aperture Science and Black Mesa.

It is in the same world, GLaDOS (As someone else also said) mentions a change on the outside of the world, this is most likely the Resonance Cascade.

^ yeah, plus listen to the directors commentary with ep2. Valve says they are merging ep3 and portal together. How far they are going to go with it is up to them. Read this if you don’t understand the series of events (not completley accurate, but good 'nuf).

Umm… Yeah, I already read that a long time ago ar487. And I have also played all (except HL1: Decay) Half Life’s. I know Black Mesa has a competitor, Aperture Science, I just think that Portal takes place in a different ‘universe’ than the Half Life universe. I know Valve asked Portal to be made, but I think it’s more of an add-on than an actual happening in the storyline of Half Life…

Time will tell…

EDIT: Oh, and I found this video. I’m pretty sure it’s fanmade/a mod, but cool nonetheless.

And a possible reference to the location of the Borealis.

Except Valve already confirmed in the commentary for Portal that Portal takes place in the Half-Life universe.

Round and round we go

Half Life
Half Life 2
Episode 1
Episode 2
Portal

Same universe

If different stories (games) feature the exact same characters or the exact same settings it can be “inferred” that they are in the same universe. That and the writers and producers telling the public that the games (stories) are set in the same universe

I’m just going to post this clip for Lateralus and hope it keeps this conversation from extending.

edit: wtf beta models

That’s a cool top that Eli’s wearing. :3

Lateralus, even in the face of overwhelming evidence you continue to believe in a fantasy world…

I wonder if we meet GlaDos again if she will have some other fighting capabilites… Maybe some robots or androids.

No dude, there is no solid evidence. In HL2 there will be a GLaDOS, Aperture Science, and even a Portal device. They just won’t be in relevance to the game Portal.

So scene Portal is part of Half Life’s storyline, does that mean TF2 along with Counterstrike are too? Hell, maybe Francis from L4D is Gordon’s uncle, I mean, they both fight zombies, right? So it must mean they’re from the same universe. :frowning:

My point exactly.

WRONG!!! :fffuuu:

It’s just not enough.

Logic FAIL

Lol, you guys fail at recognizing different oppositions… Is the internet really full of immature and dumbfound people, or can you guys control yourself so the little faith I have in humanity still exists? Just because two games with the same engine are made by Valve doesn’t mean they’re in the same timeline.

I say we just switch topics now before you guys start what you call a “flame war.”

Except for that none of those games make any of the references to each other in the way the Portal and HL2 do.

You are saying that HL2 will have the same characters, organizations, etc as Portal, and you must acknowledge that Portal makes reference to Black Mesa, yet you some how believe that Portal and HL2 are in different universes.

You make zero sense.

Why would we start a flame war? We’re just making fun of your retard
argument.

Seriously, despite all the references the games have to each other, the fact that Aperture Science is going to be in Episode Three, and that Black Mesa is mentioned in Portal, you still believe that they’re not related?

Lateralus, you are the most retarded person I have ever seen.
I can’t even begin to list all the things you have said that are wrong.

Team Fortress 2 and CS:S are in no way related to HL2 and Portal because they are not mentioned in them. HL and Portal are both mentioned in each other.

Someone get this prick out of here, and put him where he belongs.
Also give him a user title of “I have an IQ of -250”.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
