Maybe the next sidekick will be a young man in tight pants and a sweater with a pink machine pistol to appease all the guys here who really hate the alyx character. Instead of making jokes about zombies or gettin’ busy, he can complain about how puffy his eyes get when he doesn’t sleep enough or how it’s awful that his sweater-pants -shoe-gun combo don’t match. Oh, and also, he constantly wants to snuggle up to gordon except when Dr Magnusson is around because part of the emotional character development of the character is that he hasn’t come out to his hyper macho leviticus reading theoretical physicist dad yet.

I tried to read this whole thread, but I just couldn’t soo much good, well reasoned speculation, wild guessing, inane rambling and furious flaming of people who just happen to have a differing view on things.

If memory serves, it’s a Mil Mi-8, which, according to Wikipedia, has a troop carrying capacity of 24 PLUS the capacity to carry arms at the same time. That means that thing has some serious horspowers under it’s hood and hauling Gordon, Alyx, Dog and an additional number of NPCs to the borealis is perfectly feasible.

Here’s my guess as to what happens in Episode 3:

Gordon and Alyx go to the Borealis and do some stuff, then they return to White Forest base. Gordon finally gets out of his HEV suit and the rest of the game is solving theoretical physics problems with Kleiner and Magnusson. The game’s big innovation is the support for drawing tablets so that you can write out your equations in the game world.

EDIT: What language was that text on that building near where Alyx was double impaled? Was it Polish? Or Russian? Because if thats the case then i would say that we’re going to Siberia.

I think given the northward location of the Borealis and its nature of creating things, coupled with the fact that people like Eli want it destroyed for a variety of reasons, it is safe to assume that we will go to the North Pole where Santa’s Workshop is located. It is a well known fact that dwarves are often deaf and this would lend itself to the new technology in any NPC encounters. This could easily end with finding out that the combine are actually angels and we take on God, which is actually G-man, resulting in Gordon Freeman becoming God. Oh, also something offensive to Jews.
