Deus Ex Human Revolution

I got my copy of Deus-Ex for free off of Microsoft’s Games for Windows Live network by taking advantage of the Bing Rewards program. It was only 800 MS Points, so it wasn’t too hard to get.

There are parts of it that make me wary.

I am also broke, and have no idea when I will be able to buy it for myself…

There’s nothing to be wary about, the game is fucking fantastic. Everything that looks janky – the third person stealth, the regenerating health, the glowing outlines – is handled perfectly. Best game I’ve played this year.

So, like I said I would, I started playing through the original Deus Ex, and started on medium since I didn’t know what to expect. I’ve only played the first mission, but this game seems really stingy. I ran out of ammo a number of times, partly because shooting at someone’s head from 6 feet away results in a headshot less than half the time, and I was at half health most of the mission. Is this gonna get better or is this how it’s supposed to be? Or am I doing something wrong?

The game does that. I fucked stealthing so bad that I just went all out guns blazing.

I wasn’t minding the glowing outlines. That complaint always seemed revisionist to me. The first game had that.

I also wish the first game had regenerating health. So…

But the third person stealth and takedowns really get on my nerves. I don’t think it needed either. Just give me a baton and shadows…

Difficulty only affects your own health. The higher the difficulty, the easier you die.

Did you upgrade your pistol skills as high as you could before the mission started?

Just 2 more hours!

To me, it sounds like you try to headshot everyone and when you fail you just go all guns-a-blazing. Personally, I like to sneak everywhere and when I think a guy is blocking my path, I fuck him up

Damn steam why are you taking so long to unlock the game files

Game is bloody brilliant. YOU ALL GOTTA BUY IT!

Glorious game so far. No excuse not to buy it.

Buying it next week when I get paid for sure, ive not heard a single bad thing about this game and I cant wait!

Now kind of wish I had gotten it when it was $45 on Steam :frowning: .

Spam. Reported.

My pre-order arrived today - ordered on 27th June 2010
Havn even played it yet - just had to share my joy =O)

Well, looks like this is one game I’m going to have to pick up when it goes on sale on Steam in seven months.

Amazing game, plenty of choices can’t wait to sit down and really play it properly.

Pretty much my feelings. I guess I can’t say “they don’t make 'em like they used to” any more.

Awesome game. I managed to resist the urge to go guns blazing and I actually found the experience more enjoyable that way. We need more games like this. Not too many though, or people will start bitching about games giving you to many choices. Flood the market with linear games, people bitch about no choices. Flood the market with games that give you choices, people bitch about too many choices. Seems to me people just need to find something to bitch about.
